I plunked some frost-tolerant flowers in my south bed this week. Now it's time to rake out the north beds. They won't see any sun for weeks yet, but the warm temps of this spring is pushing everything up early.

@JPB,
Antonio is being my little helper today. I gave him the job to help me spread the mulch.

@FOUND SOUL,
More stone collection/moving and goathead field sandspur wrangling are in order in an hour or so. Plus some ordinary weeding. Then I'll move some irises from back yard to the front... those not likely today.

Antonio helped me cut the grass today! He’s such a good little helper. All the plants have really taken off!

Today I'm planting a little plumeria garden. They will take off in no time.

@jcboy,
When I was a little girl, my grandmother moved away from the prairies and the city to a farm on Vancouver island. My family would go every year to visit. She had a huge goat pen filled with 6 ft diameter cedar stumps and the tallest tress. ever. (If you watch the show Once Upon a Time, the scenery is very similar). Sometime in the early 1900's a massive forest fire ripped through the area, thus the sequoia stumps..
Over time, the goats had stripped everything from the resulting moonscape, they'd even gnawed, hooved, and rammed the bark off the gnarly stumps. I used to sit in the polished, hidden root crooks and read. One day, completely engrossed in the latest novel, I felt a pair hot, dry lips breathing on my bare neck and nibbling at my ear. I jumped up, freaked out only to find a goat, almost upside down, with part of my pony tail hanging from it's mouth.
Anthony has a nice head of hair... I'm sure the goats will love 'em.

Wait until the rainy season, you'll be doing an awful lot of trimming.

My elephant ear plant is really taking off. The leaves have doubled in size in just one week!
