Caprice: Thanks! Glad you liked my succinctness! I am rooting for David, by the way. The geek with the heart of gold. He does have a good attitude about the whole thing. If I were him, I'd enjoy the weather and the fantasy babe for all it was worth.

I thought the first "Average Joe" was great, right up until the goofball freaked out and almost burned down the joint. I heard that they are having an Average Joe 3, and that Adam is going to star this time. He gets to be the one picking from a bunch of women.

kickycan: 'Kay I know I have a bad memory and all...so please refresh it! When did the place nearly get burned down? Oh wait. I remember now. Adam and his romantic evening with Melana.

Yes, you are correct about Average Joe 3. According to the NBC website they are only at the application stage. The deadline date is tomorrow.

You may be rooting for David, but you and I both know he won't be among the final two. If he wasn't so hyper I think I'd like him a little more. But I definitely think he has the right attitude. No doubt he'll attract women once he's off the show. It always seems to happen. Be on t.v. and women are there. Hey if notorious serial killers in prison can attract women, you know it's a cinch for David Daskell. Wink

Oh I totally agree, David has no chance in hell. I'm going to feel bad when he gets his heart broken.

I wonder if that new Average Joe is going to be set up the same way? It would be interesting to see what would happen with a bunch of average Janes pitted against beauty queens. And how would the beauty queens respond when they see "Average Joe" Adam standing there?

Well if David has the sort of outlook he's shown so far, he's going to know he won't survive a future cut and won't be heartbroken. Besides, I think there may only be a couple of guys who have really fallen for Larissa. All of the rest, including the "hunks", see this as only a competition, with Larissa as the prize.

I think the Average Joe 3 with Adam will have a different format. The word is out about the show, so it's unlikely to have that surprise factor of the first two and that is a key twist in the show. So without that surprise factor, I would think they would have to do something else. As to what, I have no clue. This one will be more like a "who wants to date a millionaire" since Adam is in that sphere.

I think there's a good chance David will be heartbroken though. I remember when he talked about her earlier and I thought he seemed pretty smitten.
By the way, in answer to your earlier questions:

"Do you men routinely objectify women this way? Or is it just weenies like Michael C.?"

Yes, in general, we do. Most of us probably wouldn't be idiotic enough to put it the way Michael C. did on National TV, but when we are with a bunch of guys, we can get pretty raunchy. Not all guys do this, but I have to admit, I have said and heard things that would make a porn star blush. Don't women do the same thing though, for the most part, just in a different way?

Absolutely we do. I have said stuff about my boss that I would never want him to hear, and I really like him. I respect him but he happens to be a hottie and my coworkers usually say some blatant sexual stuff about him and I play along - it's pretty harmless really but I would be mortified if he heard me talking about him like that. I don't really mean anything bad and it's all supposed to be in fun but I would definitely watch my tongue if I were on camera or constantly under surveillance.

I don't agree Heeven...women don't objectify men in the same way men objectify women...not in the same sense as Mr. Pig...I mean Michael C. who referred to Larissa as a "hot beaver".

Sure, when I've gotten together with girlfriends in the past and "dished" about a guy we can make certain comments, but nothing that is considerably raunchy.

If what kickycan is saying is the norm, I think it's safe to assume that men are worse then women for this sort of thing.

We agree to disagree caprice. I think most women do objectify men. It may not be in exactly the same manner but we do do it.

Damn it, they hooked me again! I know I'm going to be pissed at the end, but I'm really starting to think one of these "Joes" can win it! Oh man, when that guy Theo had that emotional breakthrough tonight? That is good TV. Not as good as Janet Jackson flashing a boob, but good, just the same. Mr. Wicked Cool was surprisingy smooth tonight.

I don't know about any of you, but I got the feeling last night that she was acting a little bit. I think she's figured out that if she picks the Average Joe, America loves her, and if she doesn't, then nobody will remember her. She's gotta know that America loves the underdog. She's more interested in celebrity than anything, I think. She's going to try to keep her fifteen minutes of fame going by picking somebody from the Average Joe group.

She can say that how well she groomed these fellows to go out and do better for themselfs. Look at her and Brian W - she'll be able to say " I was really able to get him to open up his heart" now if she doesn't crush it america will love her!

All the "hunks" are line givers. Every single thing they say is a stinkin line. I scream at the TV when I watch because they are feeding her lines. And she isn't falling for all of it because she said that she doesn't trust them. But I bet it is a little hard to not take it from people that are good looking. You have to be smart enough and have enough control to see that they are not liking you for you and just liking you because of your skin and how nice it would be to have her as a trophy on their wall. "Look what I caught."

I don't think it was acting. I think she genuinely had a tough time of it. It's easy to sit back and criticize and more difficult to be in her shoes.

Oh she'll probably go with a "hunk". Depends on whether any of these so-called hunks exhibit a personality and intelligence. Razz

I cannot believe these guys! Both of the Michaels on this show (so-called hunks) are just absolute @ssholes! What jerks. Can't stand either one of them.

There. I have vented! Very Happy

I can't believe she kept that Michael guy. His charisma is keeping him on the show. No matter what he does, he owns up to it and she lets him off the hook. That other Michael was a complete @sshole, like you said. Glad he's gone.

Okay don't know the names, but I am so glad dorky smile all the time loser is gone. Could care less if that other guy staid he isn't going to win. He is on thin ice. The way this show is going she is going to pick an average Joe.

That guy smiled way too much and when he smiled it wasn't even normal. It was abnormaly wide. How can a guy have a Julia Roberts mouth. I laughed. What a shot to his pride. Man I wish I could have laughed in his face. Mean? Yes, but fun.
