@George,
I play a pick-em game against the spread on another board. It's much more competitive and doubly frustrating when your team wins but doesn't beat the spread. It would be a bit more work for the rjb (or whomever) because the spread isn't finalized until Thursday. All picks would have to be made on Thursday, or later. I do my picks for both games at the same time which is why I tend to be a late poster here.

@JPB,
"Football cards" used to be big out this way. The card is a table of games
with the spreads. It seems to me they were available before Thursday,
but it's been a long time. I wonder if they're still around?

@JPB,
Heh, we picked the same teams. Let that be a warning, as my total was way bad last week.

@George,
Oh, the spreads are posted before Thursday but can change based on what happens during the week. They become final on Thursday (or, at least in the game I play).

But surely you are compensated when your team loses but does beat the spread.

What do you do about ties? Here OT doesn't apply to spread betting. We only use "Extra Time" in knockout competitions anyway but even then the 90 minutes result is the one bets are settled on unless specifically agreed otherwise beforehand. A typical market on a match is 6 to 5, 9 to 4 the tie and 3 to 1.

Added time, to allow for injury stoppages, all counts as the 90th minute.

@Miz Cowdoc,
Nice try, Miz C, but you can't have Arizona and Pittsburgh. You left out Green Bay @ Minnesota.
Thanks.
