@spendius,
Quote:But surely you are compensated when your team loses but does beat the spread.
What do you do about ties?
Yes, the other game gives a "win" if the losing team beats the spread. No points are given for ties. If the winning team wins by the exact amount of the spread then the game isn't counted in the scoring. This one uses the final score even if it comes after an overtime.
Looking at the Boston Globe's sports section this morning to get the
latest line . . .
Chargers v Jets
The Line is Jets by 1.
I'll take the Bolts and give the one.
Falcons v Lions
The Line is Lions by 3½.
The game is at Ford Field. Gimme the Lions + the Bedlam.
Texans v Titans
The Line is Titans by 3.
I'm really tempted to take Houston (this edition) and the three,
even though I've picked Tennessee to win.
Bears v Buccaneers
The line is Bears by 1.
London? Seriously? London? I'll take T-Bay and a pint at the pub.
I seem to be missing Panzade.
@Miz Cowdoc,
That is Pitt & Green Bay please.
@realjohnboy,
Yo, Panz! Come back to us!
It is a week until Halloween and I am already scared...we agree on 88% of the games this week as a group. I am listing the Chicago @ Tampa Bay game as a toss up. We split 11-10 in favor of the Bucs.
We are all in step on picking Green Bay over Minnesota. Only Tico has Atlanta versus Detroit. Jespah stands alone in choosing Indianapolis against New Orleans and Miz Cowdoc sees Jacksonville against Baltimore. There are six games where we are divided 19-2 or 18-3.
Osso, George, Region and JPB agree with the majority on every game when I leave out the toss up. Nine of us agree on all but one contest.
And then there are Jespah and Tico who think differently then the rest of us on 5 games.
CoinToss is out of step on 6 games.
I hope we can find Panzade. He leads in this game.
@realjohnboy,
Maybe he can't take the pressure.
Tampa Bay's kick off was not hit well and sailed out of bounds left, eliciting throaty boos from the fans in Wembley Stadium, who can appreciate good kicking. TB trying to kick away from Hester, clearly.

I think I'm the only sucker picking Arizona (discounting Coin Toss). If we employ spendi's rules, if the Falcons beat the Lions, and the Cards beat the Steelers, do I win the week?

Pan! Pan! Come back!
@Ticomaya,
He's too late. The show is underway.
@JPB,
Quote:Atlanta @ Detroit hmmmmmm.....
I had a sinking feeling about this one. Shoulda listened to myself.
Holy hell! I just checked through the scoreboard. It looks like I'm going to be 2-5 in the early games. A breakout week indeed! Unfortunately, it's going in the wrong direction.
@JPB,
damn.
as soon as I start wanting to go 0-16, Denver comes in and lays down.
I can't even win at losing...
@JPB,
I'm - what can I say - ficticiously - about to slit my throat, hardly able to be more incorrect so far.
Just wait until next week! You'll all be sorry! Time for a turnaround on this pattern!
@ossobuco,
This is going to be brutal for most of us. Panzade said it would be right after I posted the schedule on Monday or so of last week.
@realjohnboy,
overtime in Miami.
that's more like the sucking I've come to expect...
Denver 18-15.
that's better...
Through the early games, Tico rocks.
@realjohnboy,
I remember that and remember agreeing with him, but this? this? chuckling.. this is ridiculous.
