Super Bowl XLIII! The Idiot's Guide To

Reply Mon 5 Jan, 2009 07:19 pm
Another January has rolled around and for the next month folks will be wasting a lot of time at school or the workplace talking about the NFL Super Bowl. And you, perhaps, who wouldn't know one end of a football from the other, will be left standing there with glazed eyes and a frozen smile, able to say nothing.

Fear not! The A2K mavins of the NFL can help you become a participant in this annual ritual.
What will it cost you to join? Nothing. I say nothing, other than a one time investment of five or ten minutes of your time. Max.

How cool would it be if you, yes, you, picked the Super Bowl champion!
Here is how...

(pls don't interrupt with a post. I'm on a roll)

Here is how the game is played:

Game #1: Baltimore Ravens vs Tennessee Titans. Who will win?
Game #2: San Diego Chargers vs Pittsburgh Steelers. Winner is?

Game #3: Arizona Cardinals vs Carolina Panthers. Your pick?
Game #4: Philadelphia Eagles vs NY Giants. Who wins?

Pick those four games to be played this weekend. Then move along:

Game #5: Your choice in #1 vs your choice in #2
Game #6: Your choice in #3 vs your choice in #4

And finally, for all the glory:
Game #7: Your choice in #5 vs your choice in #6 for Surperbowl Champ.

You might post your picks thusly: #1: BA; #2: SD: #3: AZ; #4: PH
#5: BA; #6: PH
#7: BA

How easy is that?

Who will win betwixt the Ravens and Steelers?
And the Cardinals and Giants?

@Rockhead,
You can party hard, Rockhead, and set your alarm clock for just before 4:30 pm ET on Saturday, 1/10. Unless the NFL does something wierd on us.

@realjohnboy,
I recall Ragman saying Panthers were a good bet this year. He was more right than wrong during the regular season. On that basis...

#1. Tennessee Titans
#2. Pittsburgh Steelers

#3. Carolina Panthers
#4. NY Giants

#5. Titans
#6. Panthers

#7. Panthers

For some reason, my 7 year old daughter has a thing for Eli and she watches every Giants game... I find it very odd.

Except for his inexplicable pick of the Steelers, I agree.
And when did you start talking like Jed Clampett?
