@littlek,
There are warnings for the Braintree area...that's where most of my relatives live.

Am watching the Weather Channel and they are saying there are a couple buildings that have lost their roofs.

Don't know if this first one is a valid photo of the area or not. Someone familiar with Springfield will have to verify it.

@Butrflynet,
Could that be New Braintree? That town is in the general Springfield area of central Mass. OTOH, Braintree is near Quincy over an hour's drive away and just south of Boston near the coast.

@Ragman,
Don't know...weather warning text says New Braintree but the guys on the air are just saying Braintree.

They're now reporting that a tornado has touched down in the Sturbridge area.

Apparently there are two thunderstorm cells, the one that hit Springfield is to the south and heading south of Boston near Oxford and there is a second T-cell to the north on track for the Worscester area that hasn't produced a tornado but there are warnings out for people to take shelter in that area.

@Butrflynet,
Dennis Leger of Springfield Fire department is saying there are hundreds of trees down and many buildings have minor damage - one building lost the top floor - several injuries - cars flipped over, starting door to door search to check for injuries in damaged houses. Says there is damage in a 17 mile area - mostly light damage, but some have been hit hard.
