@Diane,
No, I'm not going to post the tough stories. As if I somehow remembered them as if I was there. I was just a listener all those times. At the least, I will talk with you first.

But I am not the only one he talked with.

I don't have funny stories from him stored in my memory, only hard ones, and those not very particulate since my brain is not the best recorder. But you and I can talk about this, figuring out what we remember, and then I'll be ok to post.

Not to obfuscate, not the way of either of us, but to help remember.

@Diane,
There were so many: the school, he's be(s)n at;the coin, which he got from King Feisal; the house, they lived in; the journeys/voyages which they'd made ... .... others surely can re-tell those better.

I've done a lot of (bird) photos all the years I've been there( like last year in September over a period of two weeks with a tripod), but these were actually done like Bob wanted them, the hummingbirds, to be posted .... taken three weeks ago:

Between yesterday and just now are a couple of thousand miles and 35 hours without sleep ... is my paltry excuse for that mistake. Wink

@Walter Hinteler,
I don't think of it as a mistake anyway (and I remember 35 hrs sans sleep too well).

@Walter Hinteler,
Wonderful photographs, Walter!
(you're getting good at this!)
I just wish Bob could have seen them, too.

@Walter Hinteler,
This one matters to me, among others. So Bob.
Thank you, Walter.

@ossobuco,
On the other hand, I'm not sure I'd like people taking photos of me dying or of my friends going through that..
Not sure at all sure on all that.
But I figure Bob was fine with it.

@ossobuco,
Those photos weren't taken when Bob was dying.
Actually, everyone thought during that time that he would live on quite some time.

Those photos were taken according to Bob's wishes, and he wanted them to be posted .... especially for those, who wondered why he hadn't died already.

It took me more than three weeks until I could upload them.

@Walter Hinteler,
Appreciate that you did Walter. I know how hard it was for you to do so.

I took some photos of my dad a few days before he passed away. They were very difficult for me to look at the first year, in fact I could not, but now that a few years have gone by, I'm very glad I have them.

Thanks for sharing them with us.

@Walter Hinteler,
I was not accusing you, Walter. I am not sure how ready I am to see him in print as very vulnerable.

Bob was in health trouble from the day I met him, in 2004.

I'm extremely sure Bob wanted you to take the photos.

@Walter Hinteler,
Sorry to argue, Bob was dying then and knew it. His knowing varied.

I'll agree he was fine with photos, wanted them.
