One of the FIRST things our republican governor in Maine did when he got in office was tell snow removal crews they could dump the sandy and toxic salty snow directly into the sea... Did he consult university scientists and weigh the dangers to our shellfish industry? I HIGHLY DOUBT IT!!! The sea, the same exact place where we here in Maine get our food supply that we sell worldwide...
The way things are being done by "conservative" corporations is counter to a green and healthy planet. It is corporate suicide where other solutions and scientific methods and techniques could be implemented that would spare us from sudden, sure and quick disasters. (Like disasters that of the fracking... and nuclear risks...) These energy forms are insane where investment in renewable energy is too unprofitable for these greedy exploitative corporations.... Our energy grid needs to be "government" operated and publicly co-oped where capitalism is COMPLETELY removed from the equation..
The right wing, anti science and anti environment ways will only leave a huge debt to future (in many cases not so future) generations long after the money and the culpable parties are gone. One oil spill nearly poisoned the entire gulf of Mexico and also threatened the Atlantic fisheries! One nuclear disaster "Fukushima" threatens to destroy the entire pacific ocean and millions of people may die due to its malady.
My parents were not like this and they were republicans. They taught me to cherish the natural ecosystems and our earth. I can only believe that were they still alive today they would also be democrats...

John Kennedy was the last real Democrat. Basically patriotic, honest within the limits of his profession... There is no doubt that JFK would have shut the VietNam war down before it reached crisis proportions, probably by 65 or 66, and the guy even had aspirations of changing (detoxifying) our money and banking systems.
DemoKKKrat presidents and candidates for president since then, with one exception, Humphrey, have ranged from very bad to worse than very bad... LBJ, Humphrey, Jimmy Carter, Walter Mondale, SlicKKK KKKlintler, Algor, John Kerry, and now Bork Obunga.
Humphrey might actually have made a reasonable president; any of the others in the whitehouse would produce situations ranging from bad to catastrophic as we see now.
Obama saved the auto industry in Detroit and the republicans made sure the Detroit municipality went bankrupt in the process. How did the republicans accomplish this feat? By funneling public funds off to private right wing corporate concerns. A frugal fiscal approach, higher taxes for corporations and renewed public faith would have saved Detroit. In other words, "VOTE the republicans out of office in Detroit!!!" ...and everywhere else...
Well the same way Governor Walker is bankrupting Wisconsin with zero job growth and sending millions of public funds off to right wing propaganda groups.
Cancel fraudulent checks only when caught red handed because there is still enough government oversight left to catch you... (cynical depending on the viewpoint)

Russia calls for protection of Christian holy places in Maalula
Moscow, September 6, Interfax - The Russian Foreign Ministry has expressed concern over the attempts made by the armed opposition in Syria to take over the city of Maalula, a symbol of the Christian presence in Syria.
"Moscow is deeply concerned over the fact that terrorist attacks in Syria have affected Maalula, a symbol of the Christian presence in this country. Its residents speak the Aramaic language, which is almost extinct and is the language in which Jesus Christ preached, and the churches located in this city are among the oldest and most honored churches of Christians," the Russian Foreign Ministry's information and press department said in a commentary released on Friday.
The Russian Foreign Ministry called "on everyone who cares about the fate of the people of Maalula to do everything possible to prevent their killing and the destruction of Christian holy places."
"Terrorist attacks need to be stopped immediately. Special responsibility for them rests with those forces in the region and outside of it that encourage terrorists, intentionally or not," the document says.

How could I be so wrong about Putin? Any world leader who says the things he has just said, has got to be a great, great leader. He's the only leader in the developed world to be calling his people to higher morality. Astounding.

Once again for any who may have missed it...
The modern conception of slavery is a muslim invention. In biblical times, slavery was just another job description; it was basically what low-information voters did for a living. Any who has voted for Bork Obunga in our times would have been a slave either in Old Testament times or at the tim of Jesus.
Why would God have wanted to put all of those losers out of work?? To create a welfare state and underclass like we have??
