@RexRed,
Yes, I have driven a truck hauling trash and picking up residential trash.
Until last Tuesday that was my job.
Now, I drive a dump truck, hauling dirt, sand, rock, and anything else.
So yes, I do know how hard those jobs are and how hard people work at these jobs.

But you didn't answer my original question.

Now that's a job that I can answer to having performed!

I did that job without any real pay, too. Furthermore, I was working without a contract -- not at any particular farm, but freelance. Worst of all, no one seemed pleased with my work.

Yes, it's time those of us who slaughter cows all day with our bare hands get the appreciation we deserve.

@Kolyo,
Are you just kidding me? Is sounds like it and I am not that gullible.

If you are kidding me you sure are making light of the hardships of others all to get a laugh. Well I do not find it funny one bit.

If you really did do that type of work (slaughtering cows with your bare hands) my respect and admiration for enduring such a terrible job, really.

I have worked in the blazing hot sun for many years in stoop labor in the fields for minimum wage and even less per day... So I do not find in this a subject garnering the least bit of humor.

One of my friends worked in the sewerage treatment plant and came out with all kinds of illnesses and unknown bacterial infections that have plagued him ever since and still has no health care. So for people like him, Obama Care is the top of my list of priorities and I find serious fault with anyone who opposes it.

It is time to stop being political and start being human and supporting the great thing Obama has done for the exploited low wage worker.

As for why 11 dollars per hour I don't know why... That is the figure the democrats in congress decided would help people at least be able to afford the average standard of living that the minimum wage at this time in inadequate to cover. And that is the figure the republicans voted down...

Just a guess not sure why you could not have figured that one out for yourself MM.

I also worked for nearly ten years in restaurants as a dishwasher wiping the food off people's plates with my hand for a wage that was not even close enough to pay my basic living expenses. Luckily I did not contract diseases from that labor. I just have a chronic bum back because of my work history and no one in particular to sue over it.

So if I can advocate that others do not live as I did I am front and center on their behalf and I will not let politics and the rich republican bastards at Fox News dilute my resolve as you MM apparently have.

Also, one of my ex boyfriends lost half a finger working on a dump truck and got no compensation at all... His next job he got headaches from pumping gas all day...

Before you go opposing Obama Care think of who you are denying health care to.

Yes, I was kidding. Are there really people who slaughter cattle with ONLY their bare hands? I suppose you meant with their bare hands AND a really sharp knife, though, so ... my bad, I guess. Confused

@Kolyo,
By bare hands I mean not wearing gloves. Like I used my bare hands to wipe other people's food off plates years ago...

Haha funny funny... Not.

I am repulsed that you think other people's misfortunes are fodder for your warped and disgraceful sense of humor...

@neologist,
And Neo so much for your own Christian charity for those less fortunate than you, all you can do is stand around like a goon and crack more jokes huh...

As Jesus said thou art Peter (Petros - meaning a small stone or dust blown about by every wind) But on this rock (Petra - A large stone) I will build my church.

A large rock Petra not Petros a small pebble or piece of dust.

And what is that large rock? Being real...

For he that is greatest among you shall be your servant...

The joke was at your 'bare hands' expression.
Are you less fortunate than me? Can one compare my crippled knees to your crippled psyche? We are both sufficiently unfortunate, should that be our focus.
On the other hand, we are both quite fortunate to have been granted life.

Your jocular attitude only shows a naivety and childish maturity.

I feel for your shattered knees Neo... Do you feel for others even less fortunate than both of us? There are those who have it much worse and will not have years to reflect on their lives in a coherent manner as we have.

BEWARE! THIS VIDEO IS NOT FOR THE FAINT AT HEART!

Are their hands bare people? I saw only one person with gloves at the very beginning of the film... That is what I meant.

Bare hands.. obviously there is a lot of machinery involved but still "bare hands" that come directly in contact with the animal... How else am I supposed to relay that point?

They slaughter the cows with their bare hands... If you worked there you would not find it funny either. If you first hand knew and cared for people (often underpaid immigrants with no health care) who suffered in those kinds of jobs you would not be laughing at them as you have. This is what is meant by the phrase "doing the jobs that nobody else wants to do"...

Do you really think the CEO and foreman should be paid more than the workers here?

This video was obviously made before they started using illegal immigrants to do these jobs and these big corporations pay them even less and yes, no health care benefits... So when you get sick you just die silently leaving no trace of your "life"...

@RexRed,
Tell us, Rex. What are some of the things we might do to relieve the plight of those less fortunate than us?

BTW, if there was an anti democrat thread, I would be dumping on it the same as here.

@neologist,
Amnesty,

Mandatory Obama Care by employers,

Raise the minimum wage (world wide),

and put an end to the exploitation of immigrants (and citizens) by corporations.

@RexRed,
I forgot to mention that these immigrants work 60 and 70 hour weeks underpaid and with no overtime...

I wonder how rough that is on their knees and back?

Also, there is a total knee operation that will ease knee pain considerably... If you don't mind me asking, are you looking into that Neo?
