@RexRed,
No loyalty to the US people? That's funny. Tell me again what direction the left and the President have taken on illegal immigration? If you want to protect American workers, then fight illegal immigration and promote training in blue collar jobs, illegal immigrants take jobs from Americans. You can't say you support the American worker and in the same breath promote jobs for illegal immigrants.

@RexRed,
The collapse was an accident. More regulations aren't the solution until you know why it happened. More workers aren't the solution until you know why it happened. My guess is there was an equipment malfunction but that is only a guess.

More money to fix infrastructure would be more likely to lead to more accidents like this since this was an accident that happened when infrastructure was being fixed.

@parados,
There is a lot of road construction going on in the US. I've lived here in CO, this time around since 2000, and they have been working on the major highways here since I arrived. They did a major 5 or 6 year project on I-25 in the heart of Denver named T-Rex. Bridges were replaced and the highway was widened. Hwy-36 from Denver to Boulder has been under construction for a carpool/toll lane, for the last year. Hwy 6 which runs from Denver to Golden has also had a lot of work done on it over the last decade to include the Lightrail line that runs along it to Golden. In fact we only had a few places the Lightrail ran to when I moved here. In the last 15 years it has branched out to just about every major neighborhood in the Denver Metro area. I guess Colorado is just lucky, or we do what we should be doing for our roads.

@Baldimo,
Of course there is road construction going on. It's just a question of whether there is enough going on to keep up with the requirements of maintenance and additions.

I know. The 60 miles of highway that run by by home is more like a colonial washboard road than a modern state or federal highway. It hasent been repaved in 30 years.

Joni Ernst Wore Plastic Bags Over Her Shoes Because She Grew Up Under GOP Presidents
http://www.thenewcivilrightsmovement.com/davidbadash/joni_ernst_wore_plastic_bags_over_her_shoes_because_she_grew_up_under_gop_presidents
In the GOP response to the Senator Joni Ernst President's State of the Union address, Sen. Joni Ernst lamented wearing bread bags over her shoes as a child.

Comment:
I did not wear plastic bags "over" my shoes (sneakers) because they were already in tatters.

Why were my shoes in tatters? I was ten years old and there were weak child labor laws in Maine that allowed parents to send their children out onto the blueberry barons in rainstorms and sweltering heat to rake blueberries from 5 AM to 5 PM.

I raked blueberries every year and I would use bread bags to wear over my socks and "under" my filthy dirty shoes so when it would rain on me all day I would not get waterlogged feet that would look like wet raisins.

We had republican governors who did not have a problem with the corporations slaving out Maine's children under 12 to meet their low wage ends.

Today I not only have problems with my feet but I also have severe problems with my back because I spent all day while my back bones and muscles were still growing and developing stooped over doing repetitive work for the very lowest wages possible.

Our current republican govern Paul Le Page in Maine (Joni's buddy) has on several occasions sought to allow parents in our state to slave out their children in the exact same way I was victimized so corporations can get cheap labor at the expense of the health of children.

So I wish I had nice shoes to cover up as a child but I was not at that point concerned at how nice my shoes looked, I was concerned that my feet were not so waterlogged that they were vulnerable to disease and parasites.

It is shallow and unfeeling to look to the outer appearance of things and not the inner heart of the matter. Nice shoes were the least of my concerns.

Joni Ernst and the GOP are concerned only about making their blood money and they do not care if you have nice shoes, nice feet, a back that is breaking or if you have healthcare (Obamacare) that will see to your injuries once they are done using your life and limb to line their pockets.

The GOP will work you to death, tax you to death and then accuse you of being lazy once your are of no use to them anymore.

The utterly disgusting Joni Ernst's and Paul Ryan's of the world are nothing but sellouts, if they had really had it hard as youngsters they NEVER would have forgotten the lesson that teaches.

"Remember from whenst thou comest."

Our interstate bridges in Maine that endure several ton tractor trailer trucks barreling across them all day long have cracks running up and down the sides of them. Keep that in mind when you bring your family here to vacation in the coming years...

If it weren't for all the trucks the bridges may have lasted longer.

Let's hope the wear and tear on farming and other vehicles puts a dent in the bottom line of stingy corporations who don't want to pay their fair share of taxes so infrastructure repairs could be maintained.

@RexRed,
This has got to be a new low. The rich chick on the left who wants us to pay for everyone's birth control is a fake and a sham. I'm happy she lost her political race. She couldn't afford her birth control but she had enough money to donate to her own political campaign.

The chick on the right, do you even have any proof to back up your distasteful attack? If she did indeed do what you are claiming, is there any links? You gotta back this one up.

@RexRed,
This is where your anti-religious/anti-christian bias shows. It has been documented in several studies and by several news organizations, that religious people donate more often and to more places then non-religious people.

http://philanthropy.com/article/America-s-Generosity-Divide/133775/

It does not that religious giving is usually done to the church's which in turn do charity work at the local level. Not everyone in the religious world is a shyster, most of them believe in helping others. I'm not religious but I have attended church with my ex-wife, and every time I was there the announcements contained information about volunteer opportunities for several different events all being done by the church.

This Gallup Poll pretty much says the same thing.

@izzythepush,
I never drove a Humvee, but I have ridden in many.
When speaking about them as a group, its Muslim, not Moslem.

And to answer your question, yes I have.
I have lived with them, worked with them, and learned from them.
Granted, most of those times I was in the military, but Inever felt any type of hostility towards me about that.
On the contrary, I always felt welcome in their homes, and they are welcome in mine.

If you want more details, I will happily provide them, after I get home from work tonite.

That's just a difference in style, I've always used the latter spelling and will not stop now.

So you agree that most, (the vast majority in fact) Moslems are ordinary people who just want to live their lives.

That the real problem facing society are the hatemongers on each side, (people like Coldjoint and Oralboy) who wish to exploit division for their own sick ends.

I think America has a long way to go before it can have a sitcom about Moslems.

@Baldimo,
Truth hurts, don't it? How do feel about your insurance company paying for your ED medications? How do you feel about adding unexpected children to your insurance pool raising your premiums? How do you feel about these extra children raising your property taxes for new schools? How did you feel about the taxes wasted teaching you how to use condoms in boot camp? Did you protest or giggle like an eight year old? Why do you support the deployed soldiers wife banging the politician?
