@RexRed,
I wonder if Zimmerman is now on the FBI watch list? Prolly not!
Maybe, he has to kill a few more black kids.

@RexRed,
Even terrorists have second amendment rights. Some people may have to suffer death and dismemberment for the constitution you know.

@RABEL222,
Not necessarily... Once the first amendment is violated it has consequence for the second amendment. Why would one be rewarded for actively violating the general happiness of others by then giving them a gun?

$$$ doesn't = a good heart. There are good and bad rich people; I prefer to look at those rich folks with good hearts that care for all the people of this world, and there are many.

1 year ago Obama said that he "saved Detroit".
Today Detroit declared bankruptcy. How is that "saving" Detroit?

@mysteryman,
You're misconstruing about "saving Detroit." You are pretty dumb, aren't you?

That's what happens when you use FOX News as your primary news source.

Naaah! You got it wrong, ci. Zimmerman can kill as many black kids as he likes as long as he does not kill a white kid.

@cicerone imposter,
Nope, try CNN as my source, along with the official White House transcript.
So, you tell me exactly what he meant.
Apparently you have a direct line to him to know exactly what he meant at all times.

You're probably right; he can always get another gun, and he's still a member of neighborhood watch.

@mysteryman,
Where would Detroit be if Chrysler, Ford and GM were gone now? At least Detroit has a fighting change...

The problem here MM is you don't seem to understand what a figure of speech is.

Where the auto industry is used to describe the lifeblood of a city.

Was it not Romney who at the same time said, "Let Detroit go bankrupt!"

Was he referring to the city or the auto industry?

The city of Detroit and the car industry are linked but not managed by the same people.

There was once a philosophy even among the dems that outsourcing to cheap labor would bring more money into the country and the rich people would take it upon themselves and find it in their hearts to trickle down their wealth to the middle class of America.

We have since learned there is no end to the greed of some of the biggest corporations. Thus regulation of this wealth is the only course of a country (and world body) ruled by the people versus ruled by corporations where anything goes for a price... "Anything" meaning, women's rights, secularism in government, ecological damage, equality, and even the right to happiness...

Happiness is for the select few according to the rich and to hell with the ruling body of "we the people" stipulated by the first amendment of our constitution. (cynical)

@RexRed,
What many people "can't see" is that saving the auto industry in Detroit means saving jobs in every state of the US; showrooms/sales, maintenance/mechanics, loans, car wash, car detailing, and other car supplies.

From some estimates, Obama saved 1.5 million jobs. That means more tax revenues at all levels of government where those cars are made, sold, and maintained.

Conservatives don't care about creating jobs, they'd rather shrink the work force as they've shown by not approving any legislation to help small businesses during the past four and a half years.

@cicerone imposter,
The reason why saving the car industry does not necessarily save Detroit, we can thank the Japanese for that (I don't mean that in an insulting way).

It was not outsourcing alone that killed Detroit, It was the invention of robotics. Most cars are made today by robots and need precious little human intervention. Robots can even design cars.

So the auto industry was outsourced to robots not necessarily humans on the far side of the globe who need meager wages.

Years ago everything was made by hand.

Robotics are Pandora's box, once out it is hard to put them back away.

I can buy a hundred dollar acoustic guitar superior to that which years ago cost nearly a thousand.

Also years ago the guitar factory had a wall of guitar necks. They would build the body of the guitar then try each guitar neck to see which one had the tightest fit.

Today the computer robot makes the guitar and then measures the exact hole and makes a neck that fits the guitar so tightly that it doesn't even really require to be glued...

Also, major radio stations used to require 16 engineers on the payroll but today with computers they just need a Marketron to generate daily advertisement logs and a single operator at a touch screen running all the media by a mere finger swipe.

"The times they are a changing..."

@RexRed,
In a competitive world economic environment, it's up to the company to increase efficiency. We have foreign car factories in the US, and we also have car factories in foreign countries, because that's more efficient. Quality is also an important part of any product.

I'm not sure I understand your point.
