Court Refuses To Intervene In Case of 40,000 Missing Voters In Georgia
Source: thinkprogress.org

ATLANTA, GEORGIA—On Tuesday, Judge Christopher Brasher of the Fulton County Superior Court denied a petition from civil rights advocates to force Georgia’s Secretary of State to process an estimated 40,000 voter registrations that have gone missing from the public database.

Though early voting is well underway in the state, Judge Brasher called the lawsuit “premature,” and said it was based on “merely set out suspicions and fears that the will fail to carry out their mandatory duties.”

--snip--

The New Georgia Project, who spearheaded the voter registration drive and brought the lawsuit against the state, vowed Tuesday to “continue to pursue all legal avenues available.” But with the election mere days away, there may be little remedy for the tens of thousands of people who submitted all necessary documents, but have still not received a registration card. Four of those impacted voters were present at the court hearing, but were denied the opportunity to testify.

Dr. Francys Johnson, President of the Georgia NAACP, who represented the 40 thousand voters in the court, called the ruling “outrageous.”

“All in all – a republican appointed judge has backed the republican Secretary of State to deny the right to vote to a largely African American and Latino population,” Johnson wrote in a press release.

Nikko Jenkins says 'vote for Lee Terry' in court
Source: KMTV Omaha

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) - In court Wednesday for a hearing regarding his competency, convicted killer Nikko Jenkins shouted his opinion on the race for Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District.

“Vote Lee Terry guys, greatest Republican ever. He worships my (unintelligible),” Jenkins shouted.

“Vote for Lee Terry. He’s a great guy,” he added.

Republicans and Democrats have sparred over the use of Nikko Jenkins’ case in attack ads against Democratic candidate Brad Ashford.

Read more: http://www.jrn.com/kmtv/news/Nikko-Jenkins-says-vote-for-Lee-Terry-in-court-280785342.html

The ad, which has 100+ likes and 300+ dislikes on YouTube:

So Republicans make a crazy guilt-by-association ad associating Ashford with freeing a man who went on to murderer. The murderer then turns around and supports Terry. I wonder how that'd work in a campaign ad?

In more serious news, State Sen. Ernie Chambers (D) called for charges against a prison psychologist for failing to disclose Jenkins's mental condition.

Georgia GOP Chairman Scandal.
Georgia GOP County Chair Arrested After Rape Attempt Caught on Skype

By Nicole Girard -October 29, 2014

Union County Republican Party Chairman Billy Joe Turnage, 76, was arrested Friday after his attempted rape of a 39-year-old woman was broadcast on Skype Wednesday.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation charged Turnage with aggravated sexual battery and criminal attempt to commit rape after a two day interview process. The GOP Chairman is currently being held without bail.

The story, which originally appeared in North Georgia News, said Union County Sheriff Investigator Staff Sgt. Darren Osborn responded to a 911 call about a sexual assault in progress which was being captured on the popular telecommunications application software—Skype—from the victim’s residence.

“Oct. 22, dispatch received a 911 call at approximately 4 p.m. of what was believed to be an assault and rape,” Osborn said. “It was being viewed via Skype...”

@bobsal u1553115,
Voter ID laws are established in the majority of red states. No surprise there.

@hawkeye10,
I disagree. Its the ruse used by those who are corrupt to minimize their own evil and to suppress the votes of those who get suckered by the reasoning that their vote would be useless "because after all, everyone is crooked."
