@RexRed,
People in Ferguson are not relegated to a free speech zone in the middle of a desert. And they are breaking the laws daily. Using misery to promote your trash shows right where you are coming from.

The Seamy Underbelly Of Ferguson Starts To Appear (Updated)
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2014/08/18/1322691/-The-Seamy-Underbelly-Of-Ferguson-Starts-To-Appear

Whenever things make absolutely no sense, I think it can be said that while it may make no sense to you, it may make sense to someone. And nine times out of ten, what has previously appeared nonsensical may be sensical, especially if someone somewhere is making money from the nonsense.

...

Very simply, a town that bankrolls itself through racial profiling and harassment of minority citizens in penny ante driving violations which are then ratcheted up in both costs and ramifications through manipulative measures, is EXACTLY the kind of place where a jaywalking offense would spiral out of control. There really is something very systemically awful going on in that town and it is tragic that it took the death of black teenager to draw one's eyes to it. Please follow below for the full, horrifying story.

...

“Despite Ferguson’s relative poverty, fines and court fees comprise the second largest source of revenue for the city, a total of 2,635,400,” according to the ArchCity Defenders report. And in 2013, the Ferguson Municipal Court issued 24,532 arrest warrants and 12,018 cases, “or about 3 warrants and 1.5 cases per household.”

...

How can this be? we ask ourselves. Well, one of the fruits of disparate policing and the spiraling of charges and the mass transformation of an entire population into fugitives due to outstanding bench warrants is that that same population has now been successfully disenfranchised of their vote. Felons don't vote and fugitives don't vote.

Got any proof of that?

Proof of what? That she was a county DA?

Or proof that other county DAs didn't have DUIs?

Or proof that Perry didn't ask them to resign?

@parados,
Were these other DA's part of the ethic's panel? Can't seem to find anywhere in the article where it mentions that they were part of the ethics panel? If they were part of the ethic's panel when they received their DUI's then You might have a point. If they were just DA's who happen to have DUI's then you don't have a point.

The charges against Perry are going to same place the charges against the IRS are going, nowhere.

It looks more like scan of your denial that Obama is out of his league. We need a big boy president.

I think it looks a lot more like a brain scan of your brain, Butt. (Just playin' with ya.)

Yeah, we honestly do.

But a lot of little boy citizens want to think otherwise.

@Baldimo,
I think the issue boils down to the question of whether it is legal for the Governor of Texas to defund a state department because he doesn't like its director.

@InfraBlue,
Most people would 'see' that as a threat and overkill in what he wanted to accomplish. Power corrupts. Why did he want to hurt all the other workers in that department? That's not good management no matter what government department it involves. Smells like Christie-like power crazy decision. Hurt the masses.

@InfraBlue,
Doesn't like her? That sounds like a personal judgement by you.

It strikes me that he doesn't want someone convicted of DUI heading the ethics panel. She did jail time and should have left her office. Would you want someone who had done jail time serving as the head of the ethics panel? The person who is in charge of the ethics panel is supposed to be ethical. Have you seen the videos of her DUI arrest and roadside test? They had to restrain her in jail because she was out of control. Put her in the little chain with a spit guard and everything. Is that the type of person you want running an ethics panel?
