It was the roman catholic bishops who were picketing with signs with the tea party republicans who overturned gay marriage in Maine... While it was Olympia Snowe who helped pass gay marriage in Maine... Go figure? The tea party has damaged the reputation of the once proud republican party... I say we can expect this same homophobic hypocrisy from the tea party that we have observed in the Catholic Church. Why is it that the tea party cares so little about the born while taking health care away from children and leaving them destitute and vulnerable to these kinds of hateful attacks from the church. They support faith based initiatives while their motivations are inconceivably sinister. This ploy is no more than the perpetuation of evil. Most republican women are oblivious to the true intent of tea party. I believe Olympia Snowe is wise to them but unfortunately not enough to join Obama and the democrats to oppose these scoundrels... I say to Olympia and Collins do as I did, switch parties and stand with the people. The moment I saw the tea party and catholics picketing against gay marriage was my last day in the republican party... I say this in all respect to these great ladies of our elect but it is not enough to simply abandon ship, we must turn the tides on this blight of evil men who would use church funds, meant to feed the poor, to deny civil rights to the gays. Instead these funds are used to pay for legal defenses for pedophiles. We need to not stand complacent or give up but continue the forward movement toward social equality and fairness for young, old, LGBT, male, female and the especially the environment..
