Your opinion is untrustworthy because your words reveal a lack of sense concerning judicial weights and measures in judging people's character...
But . . . but . . . but . . .
You're reading way too much into my post. I wasn't implying anything about coldjoint one way or the other. Okay, okay, so he's not a shrinking violet or a Casper Milquetoast, whatever. I wasn't referring to him.
I was referring to CI's lack of humor over a humorous item I had posted in response to his frequent parrot metaphor. He said I was stupid simply because I'm not an argumentative person. I'm not saying I won't take issue with anyone in real life, because I will when I have to. I'm simply saying I don't seem to have the sort of personality that takes to forum posting very well without losing my temper and then regretting it. Let me see . . . where did I post that humorous item that somehow caused CI to suddenly become rude? Oh, here it is!
Why must every A2K member be argumentative? I always feel bad when I've lost my temper in this forum; so, why should I persist? Besides, I've already said everything that I could possibly say; and I've therefore been repeating myself of late. It's a wonder I continue to post here at all. I really should leave. (By the way, has anyone noticed that JTT hasn't posted since April? I hope s(he) is okay. Sincerely, I do.) I guess that's testimony to the fact that A2K is addictive. I've noticed there are a relative few members who've made a point of avoiding "hot" controversial threads because they don't care for all the name-calling. I mean, name-calling is not exactly a debate, anyway.
Tell you what: if I partook of alcoholic beverages (which I don't partly for the sake of my health), I'd drink one for CI . (David calls him "Imp." )
Toodle-oo!
Now on with the show! . . .
(I know Setanta hates emoticons, but I just can't help myself! )
Women getting a better paycheck would have helped fuel our economy too and provided incentives for more women to apply for work...
I took a double take when I saw their names on that bill!
I will not be voting for Susan Collins in the next election. Apparently she has accepted the dirty Citizens United bribery money too.
These GOP politicians think the middle class, for the most part, are fooling around, no! We are sick of the status quo of the Republican party.
We are sick of the Republicans bleeding our tax monies out into private anti American concerns, PERIOD!
So one or two Republicans might break rank now and then with their party, that is not enough!
We need unfettered progress, fairness and equality in the workplace not more of the same greedy stinking sold to the highest bidder politicians! We need honesty and integrity in Washington like Obama's leadership has surely exemplified!
If Obama was like the rest I would be there first to point it out.
Consequently,
We need Obama to tell Keystone XL pipeline to take a long trip off a short pier too.
America wants clean, renewable energy NOW not in 15 years!
Do you really think Republicans really care what 73 percent of Americans want? All that matters is the gold coins from their corporate money lenders!!

@wmwcjr,
All I've been saying - all along - is challenge what I say. If you want to make a joke that seems insulting, be ready to answer for it - .

@wmwcjr,
I was intending no disrespect to CI. He's clearly had a much fuller life than I and has done a lot more than I. He just needs to know that some people (not many) -- and here's a tired, old cliche -- "march to the beat of a different drummer."
At least in a few ways.

@wmwcjr,
I try to be open to humor and sometimes I can actually be funny myself and often I do mistake a joke for seriousness.
My point was, why pick on such an insignificant metaphor as "parrots", unless there was a more devious insult masked by the so called "humor".
Are you really picking on CI language skills? Are you multilingual like CI probably is? Is your comment masked racism?
You and your conscience can decide that.
Things are always funnier when they are about someone ELSE.
I was bullied in school by this same brand of insulting humor so forgive me if I do not participate and object to this kangaroo court.
CI and I used to be terrible opposites 'til I changed and realized he was right all along.
What is worse, CI frequently using the word parrot or CJ spreading Fox News lies about our Commander In Chief and others like Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi?
Obama, Reid and Pelosi are SAVING MANY LIVES with Obamacare!!!
Sorry my sense of humor is broken because of how humor was used as a vicious tool in my younger school years by bullies to intimidate, insult and bulldoze a sensibly reasonable discussion.
You know CI only keeps on CJ because CI really does care inside.
CJ seems to have careless and wanton concern for others.. Time will tell...

Good heavens, man! Are you serious! Did you read my post above? If you didn't, please read it! You are way, way, way off base here! I hate racism with every fiber of my being. As a 64-year-old white guy who was born in Texas and spent all but two of his childhood years in that state, I grew up under Jim Crow. Furthermore, I spent my adolescence in an affluent, politically ultraconservative congressional district. Before I learned what a conservative was supposed to be, I observed with my own eyes and ears how widespread racial bigotry was among those people.
I most certainly am not "picking on CI language skills"! Are you kidding me? When I started posting in this forum in 2009, I observed from the beginning that CI was well-educated and quite intelligent.

I can't believe you're saying all this! I did not intend to be insulting. In fact, I thought CI would think my post was funny. At worst, I thought he might say it's too silly. No insult was intended. What kangaroo court? I wasn't putting CI on trial, but you've succeeded in putting me (a harmless inept clown) on trial.
I have always been sympathetic to any kids who are bullied in school. I wasn't exactly "Mr. Popular" myself. I deeply resent those who spout the "blame the victim" line and the "boys will be boys" line.

Sorry, but I don't follow politics anymore. I have my reasons. Again, I was not saying there was anything at all wrong with CI's parrot metaphor. Many people use it. So what? I was simply trying to inject a little bit of humor, that's all. I never dreamed that it would become the burning issue that it has apparently become. (My goodness!) If I had even suspected that CI would be offended by my post, I wouldn't have done it. Besides, CI seems to be quite a tough bird (er, parrot?) "There you go again, wmwcjr -- you mean, nasty bully! You just can't help yourself, can you?" Come on, guys, lighten up! Let's have a sense of humor.

My heart bleeds for anyone who was bullied in school. Including you. There's no excuse for bullying. It's a sign of a lack of character.

I seriously doubt I've caused CI any pain. I didn't call him any names, but he called me stupid (not that it matters any).
I just love the potential for misunderstanding that exists in "the world of dancing electrons." Sheesh, RexRed! Calm down, I'm not the devil incarnate. I'm just a poor slob in a forum. I guess oralloy would say something to the effect that I should respect my betters. Or whatever. . . .
Let's part company with a good song!
(My wife's gonna shake her head and maybe laugh a bit when I tell her about this.)
I will try to be more sensitive of your posts WMWCJR.
I was apparently bothered that you picked CI to josh. He has been standing along with others in CJ's firing line for a while now.
Glad you explained your position.
Sorry if I misjudged your intentions.

@wmwcjr,
No, you didn't cause any pain. And to Rex, thank you for your support; I really appreciate that.
I think you're a good guy, wmwcjr, so don't worry about the 'past.' We both learned our lesson about discrimination early in our lives, and that's the reason I now advocate for people who don't have the same support system when I was a kid calling me names and telling me to go back to my own country. I also learned discrimination is ignorance at the worst level, and that gets me pumped up to assist those who are discriminated against.
Yea, I can get a bit nasty on these social forums, but if anyone has been reading my posts, that's because I can't tolerate ignorance and people who don't have a brain and can only parrot what they learn from Faux Snooze. I'm going to keep advocating for minorities, women, gays and lesbians, and anybody else who gets picked on by "superior" whites or anyone else.
Tomorrow, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) will release the employment numbers for May 2014. In April, there were 9.8 million Americans looking for a job who could not find one. Below, we put the number of unemployed in context. The amount of people looking for work in April 2014 were:
Roughly The Population Of The State Of Georgia. The latest available Census data estimates that in 2009, 9.83 million people lived in Georgia.
More Than The Population Of 10 States. If you took the population from the 10 least populated states in the U.S., it would be about 8.8 million, 1 million less than the number of unemployed individuals.
More Than The Number Of People Who Visit The Eiffel Tower. According to Business Insider, 7 million people visit the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France every year.
Less Than Half Of The Latest Estimate Of Job Openings In The U.S. Each month, the DOL releases a survey on job openings and labor turnover in the U.S. labor market. In March 2004 (the latest data available), there were 4.0 million job openings available, compared to the 9.8 million unemployed.
