MORE TAX REFORMS IN AN ERA OF SAVAGE INEQUALITY: Revenues
from state and local taxes are 40 percent of all government revenues, and most come from sales taxes. Yet sales taxes are regressive, taking a bigger chunk out of the incomes of the poor than the rich. In addition, even though the rich spend far more on professional services than do the poor (services of lawyers, accountants, investment advisers, wealth managers, and so on), professional services aren’t subject to any sales tax at all. My view is if they must have a sales tax, state and local governments should also apply it to professional services. A better alternative would be to get rid of sales taxes altogether and rely entirely on income and wealth taxes with progressively higher rates on wealthier taxpayers.

Obamacare Has Drastically Cut The Uninsured Rate For Blacks, Hispanics

This is one of the main reasons why I have supported Obamacare all along. Smile

I am so proud of our President and the Democrats for this victory in social equality and humanitarianism!!!

Now we need to extend Obamacare to immigrants caught between the U.S. and our neighbor Mexico.

No, the cornerstone of free speech is being able to be heard. And Obama( and his useful idiots like yourself) is doing everything possible to make sure opposing opinions are not.

The Obama ‘Recovery’: As Bad as (or Worse than) the Great Depression?

Quote:

I’m certainly not contending that the level of human suffering in 2014 is anywhere near what it was during the 1930s. That said, readers should know, if they don’t already, that the press has been mostly ignoring significant increases in homelessness in New York City, which “has more homeless than it has in decades,” and elsewhere. Minor reductions in the number of people literally living on the streets and in shelters are being more than offset by the hordes of American individuals and families living in cheap weekly motels because they can’t even scrape together the money for a security deposit on an apartment. When the press does deign to ever so briefly open its eyes, unlike during Republican administrations, they don’t tie the situation to economic policies coming out of Washington, and certainly not to our country’s president.

I should also note that the government presented only annual economic growth statistics until 1947, but that the Depression itself and the recession of 1937-1938 officially began and ended at various times during the years involved. This necessarily required some estimation when attempting to compare that era to the current one.

Let’s start with where we are after the dismal news on May 29 that the economy contracted at an annual rate of 1.0 percent in this year’s first quarter:

The full post-recession history shows that the economy finally returned to its pre-recession peak in the second quarter of 2011, the eighth quarter after the recession’s official end. No other post-World War II economy took longer than three quarters to accomplish this.

@RexRed,
They are blind to their own discriminatory practices which is nothing new. They like to play both sides of any issue for the sake of politics and nothing else. Most times, it bites them in the ass, but they are immune to their own injuries. Mr. Green

EPA’s Next Wave Of Job-Killing CO2 Regulations
Quote:

Supported by nothing but assumptions, faulty computer models and outright falsifications of what is actually happening on our planet, President Obama, his Environmental Protection Agency and their allies have issued more economy-crushing rules that they say will prevent dangerous manmade climate change.

Under the latest EPA regulatory onslaught (645 pages of new rules, released June 2), by 2030 states must slash carbon dioxide emissions from coal-fired electricity generating plants by 30% below 2005 levels.

The new rules supposedly give states “flexibility” in deciding how to meet the mandates. However, many will have little choice but to impose costly cap-tax-and-trade regimes like the ones Congress has wisely and repeatedly refused to enact. Others will be forced to close perfectly good, highly reliable coal-fueled power plants that currently provide affordable electricity for millions of families, factories, hospitals, schools and businesses. The adverse impacts will be enormous.

The rules will further hobble a U.S. economy that actually shrank by 1% during the first quarter of 2014, following a pathetic 1.9% total annual growth in 2013. They are on top of $1.9 trillion per year (one-eighth of our total economy) that businesses and families already pay to comply with federal rules.

A U.S. Chamber of Commerce study calculates that the new regulations will cost our economy another $51 billion annually, result in 224,000 more lost jobs every year, and cost every American household $3,400 per year in higher prices for energy, food and other necessities. Poor, middle class and minority families – and those already dependent on unemployment and welfare – will be impacted worst. Those in a dozen states that depend on coal to generate 30-95% of their electricity will be hit especially hard.

There is not much that is clear to you through your feeding tube of Fox News...

I refuse to listen to your corporate hate and lies.

You have the gall to hate on Muslims rather than hate on ALL religious Bible oriented dogma equally... There is no difference between the lot of them! They all have their radical freaks, they all have blood on their hands and they are all deluded and violent war mongers.

This is not because you have carefully thought out your position, this is because you are a mindless drone spouting out the hate you hear promulgated by the unscrupulously rich and greedy environmentally polluting pigs of your party.

You have little decorum and the articles you post are low and written by deviant morons and hypocritical religious reprobates.
