@cicerone imposter,
IMHO, most unions have outlived their usefulness, or have become so corrupt as to be criminal enterprises.
Unions threaten non-union people that cross their picket line, they have conducted illegal strikes that put public safety at risk, they have forced companies that don't bend to their will out of business, and have even go so far as to destroy property belonging to people that disagree with them.

At one time, unions served a useful purpose and did a lot of good, now most of them have become out of date and obsolete.
It wouldn't hurt my feelings if the unions ceased to exist.

@mysteryman,
Those questions are only diversions from what Romney did. He took money out of companies, and laid of many workers. There were first-hand information from some of those who lost jobs "under" Romney's takeover of companies.

@cicerone imposter,
Those questions are asked about every wealthy conservative, or those claims are made.
So, it seems to me that they should be asked about every wealty person.

That's why he calls himself "mysteryman." He doesn't know much of anything, but seems to understand a little bit about a2k, and how it works.

There are dumb people on a2k, but mysteryman is in the top five of dummies.

He's only a TROLL, it's best to IGNORE him and his ilk. Maybe, they'll disappear on their own accord.

@RexRed,
I just find it untenable that there aren't any conservatives speaking out against these foolish pranks by the GOP in congress. They must hate this country so much, they're willing to destroy it by their representatives in congress.

You just got to wonder where their brains reside. Up each other's arse!

The Tea Party has taken over the majority of the Republican Party proper. the GOp is in a death grip and the Tea Party is winning. The right-wingers are content to be obstructionists. The Republican Party's ratings are in the toilet and they have alienated a vast number of the American voter. The GOP is very much akin to the Talaban. They would like to get rid of Roe vs Wade, being against Gay marriage, and homosexuals in general. There is much friction within the Republican party regarding immigration. The GOP realizes it will need the fastest growing minority to vote for them in 2016, but the party is a racist one and are dragging their feet. Their refusal to pass a job bill for fear of giving a victory to President Obama. This congress has done nothing. They are showing much outrage over the Benghazi Embassy talking points but where was the outrage when Bush illegally invaded Iraq, causing the death of over 4,400 US military deaths, andan untold number of dead Iraqis and many made homeless, into refugees.

It's going to be an uphill climb to get the Republican garbage out of office but it won't be from a lack of trying.

I've essentially wrote the same thing about GW Bush's illegal war in Iraq often, but all that the GOP has done is push the Benghazi issue to death. McCain is a senile old man who doesn't even know what he's doing, and his primary purpose in life is to make an ass out of his own caricature of a broken politician. He fits into the GOP program very well; make himself look stupid and a non-issue in US politics.

He's a miserable human being who should have retired soon after 2008.

I agree, McCain should have stepped down after he lost to Obama, but instead, the Arizona senator continued to harbor resentment at his loss and to be a disruptive force in the senate....how often the media made reference to McCain's lingering grievance at losing to Obama. A close scrutiny of McCain's public demeanor reveals one with a possible low self-esteem. Being a US senator is a high mark of distinction and perhaps this is why he's on every Sunday morning talk show that will have him....he would very much like to feel important again, not relegated to a back seat after his staggering loss in 2008. Even during his campaign he made glaring mistakes where Senator Lieberman had to publicly correct him. But like everything else in life there is nothing constant but CHANGE.

Romney was a corporate scavenger who believed 47% of the American people were parasites. What a narrow escape the average American had.

@RexRed,
Actually, according to the TAX CODE, the IRS did what is stated as regulation to ensure that NONPROFIT STATUS IS GRANTED ONLY TO CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS and not to political action committees. A nonprofit must
be an organization created to support educational, religious, or charitable activities and not primarily a POLITICAL ACTIVITY organization.

What did the IRS do wrong? That the Tea Party organizers were upset they were asked questions of their legality to be a nonprofit?

Obama is WRONG on this one! So are most of the MEDIA PEOPLE.

That's absurd. He often appears in threads as a moderate-to-conservative voice of reason amid flame wars between liberals and freepers. I think he even voted for Obama or at least toyed with the idea.

I apologize for insulting you so badly a couple months ago and making out that you were some kind centrist apologist for liberal inaction (specifically on the question of women's empowerment). My father was being a dick to me and I had a short fuse that day.

Please ... is it time to stop insulting random people? We all get how devoted you are to all things "Democrat".

Hey Rex,

What do you think about the idea of writing in Eliot Cutler in the Democratic primary? If enough people did it, Cutler would win the Democratic primary, and we could eliminate all other Democratic contenders and narrow the 2014 gubernatorial race to just Cutler and LePage. Cutler would beat the snot out of LePage just like any of the big-name Democrats would in a straight-up two-man race.
