@coldjoint,
"America's exceptionalism is the notion that all should be free." (Feb 2013)
And you know, doncha, cj, that America's exceptionalism is the notion that only those who don't stand in the way of America's rapacious greed should be free.
If we are told that we need small government. There is a subliminal message in this.
The outside message is that we have the NSA spying on us and regulation is stopping business from "really thriving". So we have to SHUT DOWN THE GOVERNMENT!!!!!" So the same people pay millions to arm the public and scare the hell out of them. Obama is coming for your guns!
These tea party people are one celled brained jerks who fall for this trick.
If they only thought the time they spent hording their guns could instead be spent on community involvement, they could have caused a reverse reaction in many lives.
So the idea of the oligarchy and their well paid minions is to make you fear your government?
BILLIONS OF DOLLARS have been spent to relay this propaganda.
What is it about our government that could be so bad?
It is because these rich people think our government is so corrupt that they might as well rule the people anyway? Are the rich people jealous of our government politicians? Much of this could be an envy.
There is one thing that our government has that the rich people don't have.
One thing that is like night and day and it is the sole reason why they have spent billions to convince you that "SMALL GOVERNMENT" is the way.
It is not the way.
Our government is based upon a foundation like an arch and the keystone of that arch is our United States Constitution.
These corporations feel they have not sworn to any Constitution. This is why they have spent a fortune to convince you that REGULATIONS are BAD.
In essence we have all who are Americans, pledged allegiance to the flag of the United States of America AND to the republic...
So if corporations are people then they would also be subject to this allegiance.
(whispered) But they don't what you to know that.
As long as they can keep both sides questioning. Consider this, If we have smaller government and less regulations, let the states DISCRIMINATE.??!
The smaller our government the smaller our constitution to what makes America exceptional.
Once we are no longer exceptional then we are lost as a people.
Divided we fall.
Our constitution, regulations and civil rights are what make us exceptional in this world.
@RexRed,
Rex: Our constitution, regulations and civil rights are what make us exceptional in this world.

That really is propaganda talking, Rex, or profound ignorance, which really amounts to the same thing.

I don't say that as a reality, I say it as an ideal. There is always room for improvement.
re obamacare polls:
The polls have consistently shown that, when you ask people why they disapprove of Obamacare, about a quarter of the disapprovers disapprove BECAUSE THEY THINK IT DOESN'T GO FAR ENOUGH. That's been the case for a couple years now, for the polls that actually probe a little deeper into the question. Those are people that are NEVER going to buy into the Republican party line, which is just the oppposite. And, with the 41% approval, a solid majority line up on the side of expanded helathcare, starting with Obamacare.
And, I might add, in the last week, signups have gone from 4.2 million to 5-million-plus, and the predictel late surge seems to be happening, looks now like it'll hit six million, maybe even seven before signups end. And when it hit 4.2 million, the breakdwon wasw that at that point, there were enough signups to make the program viable, and 5 million or more put it on an even sounder footing. And that also means there are an additional five million people that the Republican party has managed to thoroughly alienate. You guys are digging your own grave with your rhetoric , coldjoint, I hope you realize that. Just another large demographic bloc you can ill afford to lose.
typical republican reaction;. deny relity if it doesn't fit your preconceptions.
@MontereyJack,
What do they mean by "it doesn't go far enough?"
coldjoint says:
Quote: Preconceptions? Obamacare is a failure. It shows more each desperate day.
five-million-plus people so far, and more every day, would disagree with you, but, hey, you never let reality get in your way, do you?
@MontereyJack,
Saying 5 million is a success, is only done by moving the goal posts of what they considered successful.
signups not done yet, looks like six million is reachable, and the economics says it's going to work with just four million, and they're already well past that. so, yeah, it's a success. and, may I remind you, it was your vaunted PRIVATE enterprise which screwed up the computer system so badly and delayed signups for months.
@MontereyJack,
Wrong, it was govt over reach which created the need for a BS computer system. See continuing to move the goal posts. Now 4 million will cover the program? Yeah right, it's going to sink under it's own weight, and we the people are going to pay the price in the form of higher medical bills and premiums. My premiums costs this year almost doubled. Stop blowing sunshine up peoples asses.
