@Baldimo,
I don't mind people doing well at all. And I'm not going to waste time debating the merits of Socialism with you. You refuse to see the bigger picture and have made it a debate about yourself. I pay 25% as well, but I don't moan about it, and if I earned enough to be in the higher 40% bracket I wouldn't moan about that either. And I pay my tax up front, come April I'm always due a refund.

I'm more concerned about public services and tax avoidance/evasion through loopholes.

All this was in response to CJ's ridiculous nonsense about charity.

I've made my point, so don't expect any more responses. I don't believe in flogging a dead horse. I've got much better things to do with my time.

Nothing ridiculous about the truth, just the people who refuse to believe it.http://www.acidpulse.net/images/smilies/chuckle.gif

@izzythepush,
Sorry Izzy but the it is about me when I'm paying out the money. It doesn't do much to get a pay raise like that, and then have to put most of it into paying more taxes.

@Baldimo,
You're avoiding those uncomfortable truths again, Baldimo. You rant and whine and bitch and moan about government spending but you say naught about the obscene amount spent by the USA on the military. And when all that military is used for is to commit war crimes and to help USA businesses steal the wealth of the poor.

Why don't you tell me who they are, instead of blowing smoke. Show me one case that has resulted in a conviction and a fine.

It seems you don't understand what a conviction is. The SEIU wasn't convicted of anything.

As for fines...
Here are 2 here with larger fines.

How much am I expected to pay? With my last promotion and pay raise, I was placed in the 25% tax bracket. How much is enough?

The 25% tax bracket only applies to the amount you earned over the amount that got you into that bracket.

Many people have no problem paying less taxes.

They simply do not earn enough to do so.

You are the one that seems confused. It was a 501 group that was fined in Michigan.

That says more about Texas than anything else. It's easy to keep people subdued when they're in despair.

There are messed up people everywhere and govt. programs which give fungible things away encourage being messed up. Texas has one of the healthiest economies in the US and people are leaving blue states to come here for obvoius reasons. Nobody is "subdued" here.

The reality of SNAP where I live is that my church is feeding many if not most of the needy children and SNAP isn't. The church btw does not have tax dollars to work with, just the contributions of ordinary people.

Keeping up with real science is not being a "science denier(TM)". Anybody who still believes in evolution and/or the "Big Bang(TM) is not keeping up.

@gungasnake,
Anybody who doesn't accept evolution or the Big Bang hasn't been keeping up for a century and a half.

In addition to the Cosmic Background Microwave Radiation, leftover radiation from the Big Bang, which permeates space, they just discovered the postulated gravity waves, the "first yremors" of the Big Bang.

Huff and puff all you want, gunga, you're wrong. always have been.
