Why do you have such a personal aversion to reality? Whether or not I breed responsibly is beside the point. Teenagers and twenty somethings will always have sex, lack of contraception won't stop that happening. You can preach personal responsibility all you like, but only responsible people will take any notice. It's common sense. We had this conversation in the 60s, I can't believe people like you still think banging on about personal responsibility will make any difference to teenage pregnancies. It doesn't work. In fact it encourages teenage pregnancies. Try living in the world as it is, not as you'd like it to be.
After my wife had given birth to Child No. 2, that is. One reason I did it (with my wife's support, of course) is because we didn't believe we'd be able to devote full attention to each of our children if we had more than two. (Ya know, I shouldn't brag about this. It just makes me look like a silly jerk! 
)
I wanted to do what was best for my wife and our two children. But as surgeries go, it really was no big deal.
