This NYT article is very revealing about Ryan and his extremism. He voted not to reduce the debt in order to win the next election based on solutions that would effect MediCare, the program favored by most Americans.

If the republicans do win the white house and congress, they're going to make MediCare into a voucher system to give bigger tax breaks to the rich, and the estimated added cost to beneficieries will be about $6,400/year.

Why then, is this election so close?

@RexRed,
So true; they've become obsessed with social issues like abortion and marriage is only between and man and a woman over our economy and wars. We now have many college grads who cannot find jobs, and they're more concerned with women's health issues and gays and lesbians. They also don't want Medicare and social security for those younger than 55, but will scream bloody-murder if the government talks about changing their benefits.

Most don't understand the benefits of ObamaCare, but they're against it.

How does one change stupid to "I understand?"

@cicerone imposter,
I think these are conservative confusionary tactics, I call them "knight moves". Like on a chess board, the knight makes two moves in one direction then three in a completely different angle. The knight move resembles broken logic based upon indecision, pure superstition and chance. A dance to hide one's true position. The marriage of preposterous with unbelievable...

Mitt Romney will never be president
http://www.salon.com/2012/09/12/mitt_romney_will_never_be_president/

The tea party and Carl Rove's lies are more to blame in setting Romney up for this... Rove's lies have cost Romney the election. The fact that Romney would be beguiled into their idiocy speaks volumes. The damage is done.

If Romney "likes to fire people" he might start by firing his staff of tea party nit wit advisers. Next he should denounce Boehner and McConnell and shame them and the obstructionist party for what they have done to our economy due to their racist leanings. He should publicly tell Trump to take a walk too... Romney then should relax and be himself for once... Speak what he thinks and not the scripted crap being fed to him by corporate traitors and greedy corrupt aristocrats. Even Fox news is repelling him like a stinky diaper... He still will not win the White House but he would not be remembered as another Hanoi Jane for the rest of his life... It's called damage control Mitt... There is a bus coming fast and a few who need to be thrown under it ASAP. Possibly, Obama might find a place for Romney in his cabinet as he did for Hillary who ran against him... Ironically, with no malintent meant, maybe ambassador to Libya or Russia.

@RexRed,
Since Romney didn't "almost start a war with England", why should I take anything Andy Borowitz says seriously?
And why should we take you seriously when you post something that you know is a lie?

Did Romney make England, one of our greatest allies and cultural trading partners, feel all warm and fuzzy on such an event as the Olympics? The English people are too reserved and prudent to let such words ruffle their feathers to the point of protests like some other countries might have done over such thoughtlessness and callous.

This quote by Andy is a figure of speech used to demonstrate how "off base" Romney's line of inquisition was.

Not a lie but a figure of speech.

Literal = the ground is dry

Figure = the ground is thirsty

Does the ground have a mouth?

Some wars are waged by words and are cold and calculated...

@RexRed,
So true, when the republican party is so splintered, they don't know whether they're coming or going. First, they were against Romney; now, they are for Romney. Why? Because he spent billions on defeating his own party members, and he now complains that Obama is using attacks on him!

There's no cure .......
