@coldjoint,
Would you please cite specific references; in other words, the original source of those supposed quotations (such as a reliable biography, etc.). How does anyone know these quotations are truthful? Conservatives would have a vested interest in discrediting LBJ, especially considering the fact that their own record on the issue of civil rights during the 1950s through the 1970s is pathetic.

When Lyndon Johnson as President signed the 1964 Civil Rights Act into law, he declared that the South would be lost to the Democratic Party for a generation (longer than that, actually). That doesn't sound like a calculating politician; it sounds like a man acting out of moral principle. (Yes, LBJ was larger than life, which means he had his dark side.)

(Again, I am not a supporter of President Obama. I defend him in no way, shape, or form. So, if you do reply to me, please don't speak to me as if I were defending Obama. I'm not your enemy, my friend. I gave up on American politics a long time ago. I'm pro-life and I'm against same-sex marriage; so, in the minds of the liberal A2K members, that definitely disqualifies me from being considered as one of them. (Sorry, David!) Concerning this country's economic future, I'm also very concerned about excessive spending policies of administrations of both parties. So, I'm not a member of what you view as the evil clique of A2K against whom you are currently engaged in righteous battle.)

Conservatives and liberals have this much in common (well, actually, more): Neither side is willing to truly engage in any self-examination to try to understand how or why they ever went wrong about anything, and neither side is willing to admit that they have ever been wrong about anything.

By the way, this shouting back and forth is not a debate. It's just a childish argument -- sometimes entertaining (I plead guilty! Embarrassed Mr. Green ), sometimes saddening Sad . Besides, posting in forums such as this is largely done in vain. It's not like we have a lot power or influence. With the exception of venting our spleens, nothing is actually accomplished.

Speaking of conservative Republican racial strategy, here's an interesting video of an interview with Lee Atwater, who was another "great friend" (sarcastic expression) of black Americans:

An audio recording of the entire interview with Atwater is available on the webpage to which I've provided a link below, as follows:

The Obama Family Needs To be Arrested, Found To Be In Secret Plot To Establish Islamic Law

This guy knows terrorism. And this guy knows that Islam is relentless. Does this country really need to give them a tax exemption?

Quote:
The report concludes that Malik Obama’s Foundation (BHOF) was incorrectly awarded tax-exempt status along with the Mama Sarah Obama Foundation (MSOF). Evidence points to the disguising of both as charities when in fact they both advance terror causes.

I trust the people that made that meme. If it were false it would not be on that site. Those things are fact checked.

I submit a post defending part of the record of a prominent Democratic President of the last century and also post items that put a leading Republican activist of the more recent past in a negative light; but I still get a "thumbs down," anyway. I gave the "progressives" fodder to use against coldjoint, but they're still not pleased with me. Laughing (I think I know who did it, but I don't care to express my speculation with the reader. Mr. Green ) Love that A2K! Smile

Gotta go for now.

Glorious #Obamacare Victory: lost hours and decreased wages!

Quote:
A historically high number of people will be locked out of the workforce by 2021, according to a report by the Congressional Budget Office released Tuesday.

President Barack Obama’s signature health-care law will contribute to this phenomenon, the CBO said, citing new estimates that the Affordable Care Act will cause a larger-than-expected reduction in working hours—eliminating the equivalent of about 2.3 million workers in 2021.
In 2011, the CBO estimated the law would cause a reduction of about 800,000 full-time equivalent workers.

“CBO estimates that the ACA will reduce the total number of hours worked, on net, by about 1.5 to 2 percent during the period from 2017 to 2024, almost entirely because workers will choose to supply less labor—given the new taxes and other incentives they will face and the financial benefits some will receive,” said the report.

Remember the CBO doesn't lie. Iwas told that right here on this very forum.

I like the -2 for a post that is factual. And that the org. that stands behind is beyond question of Obama supporters. Don't you think it is time to realize that there is a huge - in the WH?

Let's see, there will be between 2 or 2.5 million new government dependents and will be more or less forced to vote Democratic to keep the government money flowing. Clever, if you wish to bankrupt the country.

If you bothered to pay attention you would notice that what you highlighted in red was NOT what was said by the CBO. That is an interpretation of what they said.

By the way, the CBO also said that 4 million jobs would be created by 2023 if the immigration bill which the GOP is blocking was passed. Would you care to talk about who is not creating jobs?

Thus, in the long run, the number of employed people would increase by the same percentage as the growth in the labor force—by about 3½ percent in 2023 and by about 5 percent in 2033, CBO estimates.

Wow! all those high paying jobs. I believe we pay immigrants top dollar. The jobs that would be created would still have people dependent on the government to make it. And that is exactly what the socialist piece of **** in the WH wants.

I'll bet they wouldn't be dependent if we raised the minimum wage so they actually made a living wage but it seems the GOP is against that too.

Ten dollars an hour wouldn't make any difference they would still be dependent. And who is the government to decide labor costs for business. That is over reach.

BREAKING: Remember this Summer when people were getting arrested every day for singing in the Wisconsin State Capitol? A county judge just ruled the permit rules used by the Capitol Police for their arrest as unconstitutional.
