@hawkeye10,
The ACA is a tax it is NOT optional.. Those who don't pay their taxes go to jail...

I am sure there will be an extended amount of time to sign up due to website problems but eventually all will have to pay in just like they do for social security...

Young people get illnesses that require extensive medical treatments too.

They are also more prone to injury due to risk taking and are equally prone to drug and alcohol addiction that is also covered under the ACA.

Just consider the number one killer of teens.

http://www.cdc.gov/motorvehiclesafety/teen_drivers/teendrivers_factsheet.html

Excerpt:
Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for U.S. teens.

In 2010, seven teens ages 16 to 19 died every day from motor vehicle injuries.

Teens are more likely than older drivers to underestimate dangerous situations or not be able to recognize hazardous situations.

Teens are more likely than older drivers to speed and allow shorter headways (the distance from the front of one vehicle to the front of the next). The presence of male teenage passengers increases the likelihood of this risky driving behavior.

Among male drivers between 15 and 20 years of age who were involved in fatal crashes in 2010, 39% were speeding at the time of the crash and 25% had been drinking.

Compared with other age groups, teens have the lowest rate of seat belt use. In 2011, only 54% of high school students reported they always wear seat belts when riding with someone else.

In a national survey conducted in 2011, 24% of teens reported that, within the previous month, they had ridden with a driver who had been drinking alcohol and 8% reported having driven after drinking alcohol within the same one-month period.

In 2010, 56% of drivers aged 15 to 20 were killed in motor vehicle crashes after drinking and driving were not wearing a seat belt.

In 2010, half of teen deaths from motor vehicle crashes occurred between 3 p.m. and midnight and 55% occurred on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.

Comment: You know a bit of objective research on this subject and you would not need to "speculate wildly" about this.

This administration is simply not doing what the majority of Americans want. Please note than 9% think this administration is a big problem, only 2% think it is Republicans and the Tea Party.

And only six points separate the Republicans and Democrats. That will change in the Republicans favor.

Quote:
Obamacare Is a Problem For Much More Than the 5%
By Robert Graboyes & Patrick Paule

Millions of Americans are losing their health insurance policies because of the Affordable Care Act. ACA supporters claim the cancelled plans were "subpar." But in fact, many or most cancelled plans simply did not fit the ACA's arbitrary cookie-cutter standards; the ACA forces insurers to offer sameness, not quality. To understand how, imagine a school where 59, 71, 82, and 90 are passing grades-but 66, 73, 85, and 98 are failing (subpar) grades. Ponder that for a moment, and ask yourself whether you can discern any logic. No? Welcome to the ACA School.

The millions losing their individual policies now will be joined in 2014 by tens of millions who will lose their employer-based policies for the same reason. And for many, the brand-new policies currently offered will be cancelled in 2015 or 2016 because the ACA's sameness standards are a moving target. An unknown number of Americans will now face a permanent cycle of annual or biennial cancellation and have to search for a new policy because of the ACA's bizarre grading system.

Clusterfuck central.

@coldjoint,
we expect dishonesty out of our politicians but there are limits. it is becoming clear that R's are betting that the D's crossed it on the selling of ObamaCare. this becomes much worse for the D's then the Iraq war lies were for the R's because in that case it was mostly Bush and the administration that got blamed.

how ever journalism should fairly get hammered again.

Seems like all bets are off. We should expect arrogance also. And siding with the arrogant, who are some how offended by the slightest criticism, is a huge problem. It implies control of thought, and does control of the narrative. I think more people are figuring that out.

The Democratic agenda is now socialistic. And that requires a huge government. And when it get's big enough that is what we will have. It won't matter what we call it.

And Socialism is a proven failure.

@coldjoint,
Yes, how silly to ask people to instead buy a less expensive policy that actually is there when they need it...

Republicans especially like being ripped off, it reaffirms their faith in piracy...

@coldjoint,
You know how perplexing and unfathomable it is to republicans that democrats actually have an agenda, yes, and it is called "democracy".

Democracy does not flourish in an environment where the unscrupulous rich and republican profit polluters are buying votes and disenfranchising voters.

Yes, saving lives by providing reliable health care to the poor and middle class is MUCH worse than dropping bombs under the false guise of WMD. Shame on you dems!!! (cynical)

@coldjoint,
Imagine policies where the number 79 you die and the number 80 your insurance works...

It is not just arbitrary numbers but the difference between a policy where when you need it you can be denied to a policy where you cannot be denied for any reason at all.

Once again the blind republicans demonstrate their skill at leading the blind off a cliff.

A policy where you can be denied when you need it is no policy at all. It is a farce and this is what the republicans have voted 50 times to protect, scammers and defrauders.

What do you think the Democrats are doing. Welfare is their way of buying votes. And plenty of buses to take those people to the polls.

@coldjoint,
A country ceases to be a republic when their elected officials are bought off by the elite...

The democrats are not "bought off" by the elite but they are supported by the elite on virtues they mutually hold dear.

The republican's ONLY virtue is money...

The House voted to approve the budget; it means no shutdowns this year.

Didn't help the stock market, though.

Hillary and Bill Clinton are not elite? And exactly what virtue does Bill hold dear? His wedding vows?

How much do they pay you to post this trash?

No. I am not saying that at all. But I do not think it is virtue that floats their boat. In fact, the farthest thing from it. Power and control is what is dear to them. And virtue is not, or has ever been, a factor.

Things like selflessness and other qualities that show any humility at all are but manufactured and contrived to satisfy the people who would like to think they are behind some sort of saint for the oppressed.

And the elite are so far away from dealing with real problems and everyday facts of life because those things do not affect them. And they hold that fact very dear, but act like it does not exist.

In other words, they are just not who they wish to control. And that is dear to them, because being like the common man is the last thing they want.
