This is a rough explanation.

Branding relates to the identification of a product. Kleenex brand of paper products.

Marketing relates to getting the product recognized, wanted, and sold.

Marketing is how you promote. Branding is what people think or see when they hear your company name. Branding is more of how you establish your image with logos and slogans. Marketing is using that logo or slogan to create buzz about your product or service.

Marketing means build an awareness in the market. Branding represents your brand with various strategy.
