@jcboy,
Yeah, we have an arch leading from the living room, into a hall.

On the wall next to the arch we put in a niche with an arched top. The shapes play off each other well.

@chai2,
We have a very large entranceway from the living room to the dinning room. I’m thinking of calling the guy in Ohio to see if he can make kind of an eyebrow shaped arch for that entrance.

@jcboy,
I refinished the hardwood floor in Antonio’s hall. Just waiting for it to dry. Next week I will tackle the room before the hall. They call it a Florida room.

@jcboy,
not sure about that whole arch to-do, but the floor looks fabulous

are the walls a sort of pale butter colour?

@jcboy,
To us up North, a Florida room is a wide hall with many windows or a wall of glass, offering a large seating and lounging area just like a sun porch.

@ehBeth,
It is kind of a butter color. Antonio’s room is two different shades of gray. Light on three walls and then a darker gray on one wall. I thought it kind of flowed together.

@farmerman,
That’s what is it. At one time this was a one bedroom one bath home, it’s long and narrow. I believe the florida room was at the back of the house then later they added the hall, second bathroom and bedroom.

This house has 22 windows. The first thing I did was have them replaced with the double pane hurricane windows.

@jcboy,
Is it one of those Art Deco looking places?

It is now that he’s completely changed every room. I’m wondering what it will be next year. Drunk Shocked

@farmerman,
I’m really not sure what style this house is, not art deco and not bungalow.

I have to put one more coat on the floor then the quarter round at the bottom of the baseboard and I’m done with the hall.

I love doing that, having an accent wall. It really makes a room.

@MMarciano,
Can't you just move into the house next door that he's planning to buy?

You can move back and forth between the houses ....

@jcboy,
That looks somewhat like one of my ceiling fans - - the one I got at Home Depot. I tend to like more detailing and there isn't that extension from the ceiling that is shown in JC's photo.
I'll admit it's not my favorite of my four fans, but it's there and it works.
