The American President is missing and has been since inauguration day. This is what we elected.

As the thread about Are You Sorry You Voted For Obama shows, I am not the only disappointed Democrat. But, we are mostly going to come together at the end and reelect him. I think my biggest complaint was over the procrastination and dithering when the Democrats had the numbers to pass virtually everything they wanted, and barely managed to pass the health care bill that got through. It was a golden opportunity.

@edgarblythe,
That is exactly why you got your butts kicked on Nov 2. We didn't forget the sleazy backroom deals and bribes.

I understand that as well, but even a sober judge is likely to find the tedious pontifications of a sanctimonious blowhard forgettable.

‎As Democrats have moved rightward to pick up Republican votes, Republicans moved rightward, too -- simply to oppose Democratic proposals. The shift toward Republican thinking hasn't gained President Obama any support from Republicans, and it leaves a lot of empty space on the left. -- Rachel Maddow

@edgarblythe,
So true, edgarB. I don't think it bodes well either, as it opens up the possibility of very frustrated far left violent action, which we've been through before, to much national pain, including pain to people like me. That is, if there is any radical left left. And things tend to swing over the years.

As I've said several times, in terms of the rest of the world I'm a middle of the road person, and in the U.S. now, the average considered-moderate Republican would think of me as very left. Actual moderate Republicans seem low on the ground but I am only going by what I read.

The level of the entire field in US politics has skewed far to the right.
