Happy Birthday ! Love your wonderful sense of humor! Get well :-)
My thoughts are with you both, Diane and Dys. Please get well soon, Dys.
Ohhhhhhhhhhh, gee. I am glad though they know what it was and that it was called minor. Love to you both.
I'm responding in the same way as Montana; "I feel a little better that the both of you will be okay." We're sending our special vibes to all the doctors and nurses that are taking care of dys to make sure he gets the best of care. You take good care of yourself too, Diane, you hear? c.i.
BTW, which hospital (name and address) and room number is he in?
A note from Diane -
"A quick note before going to the hospital. He should be fine a couple
of weeks. Keep those good thoughts coming.
I'll try to tell you more later, but must get going."
CI, it is the Swedish Medical Center. I think he is/was in icu but may be out of icu now.
Dys and Diane
Diane, I'm so relieved that you were with Bob when he became ill. I shudder to think what might have happened if you were not in his life. You know that you are his life's heart and soul and that you will fight with all your strength to get him well. Such a powerful love between two people has to sustain them both. Adding all the love of your friends to your own love is a powerful life sustaining force.
I only found the post about Dys' birthday today, 12/31, and was preparing to wish him the very best birthday of his life. Now all I can think about is the love and friendship comming from hundreds of people to you and to Bob.
Dys, kick the **** out of that stroke and get well and get your skinny arse back to us!
Diane, I will be sending you a private message.
Much love from BumbleBeeBoogie
"Happy Birthday to You,
Happy Birthday to You,
Happy Birthday dear Dys...."
HOLY SH!T, BOB!!! I know how you men hate having a fuss made over your birthdays, but this is NO WAY to avoid a celebration!!!
Next time, just accept the gifts and blow out the candles like a good boy. Okay?
Love, Kisses & Get-Well Wishes,
Eva
I've got to wonder if Diane was doing that fan dance!
Major hugs to both of you.

Dear Dys and Diane,
I'm hoping very hard for a speedy recovery. Sigh.
Dys - best wishes for a speedy recovery and when you're well and thinking about it, a wonderful birthday celebration.
Love from Mr. J & me
Diane and Bob ~ I love you both so much. You guys helped me out quite a bit during the initial stages of my anxiety and I want to return the favor.
You're both in my prayers (Fred, too) and I'll never let up on them.
Please tell Bob I miss him and I'm sending mental hugs his way.
Love,
Rae
Please get well and back here soon, Dys.
Love and prayers, jackie
Now I have time to tell you all what happened.
On the night of the 30th, Bob and I were driving to a restaurant for
Bob's birthday. The restaurant serves fresh Alaska King Crab, which is
one of Bob's all time favorites.
Driving down a very busy street near the restaurant, Bob started driving
erratically, almost running into the car in front of us, them almost
running over the sidewalk. I yelled for him to stop, which he did, just
inches from an SUV in front of us. He said that he was blind, like having
a flash go off right in front of his eyes continuously. I told him where
to turn so that we could get off that busy street. He was able to follow
my instructions and pulled over as soon as he could.
For a few minutes he couldn't tell me what had happened, but his eyesight
came back after about ten minutes. He said he was very dizzy, terribly
tired and weak. We sat there for maybe half an hour, then he slid over to
the passenger side and I got behind the wheel. That is when he started
throwing up. It lasted about 15 minutes. Being new to Denver, I didn't
know where a hospital was located, so I went to an Embassy Suites that I
could see down the block, figuring that someone working in a hotel would
certainly know where to find a hospital.
We had to pull over several times on the way to the hospital, as Bob
continued throwing up, even though he hadn't eaten anything all day. When
we got to the emergency room, he was too weak to get out of the
car. Finally got him checked in and tests started.
They still aren't sure where the stroke originated. Apparently, a stroke
can only originate from the blood vessels on the sides of the neck or
from the heart. They are thinking his heart was where it started, but a
couple more tests need to be done.
He is still too weak to hold a conversation, but can answer questions. He
said it is tiring to even turn his head back and forth. He had a very bad
headache and the nausea continued for most of the night, although they
were able to give him something through the IV for the pain as well as
blood thinners.
They think he will be able to leave ICU tomorrow and go to (can't
remember--not a regular room, but not as intense as ICU).
Bob is a man for whom I left a secure life and a husband of thirty four
years. The last few months with Bob have been the happiest of my life and
have also made me realize that I never really understood what true love
is all about until I met him.
I hope to have my skinny cowboy back in just a few days and have him with
me for many more years.
Thank you all for your good thoughts and prayers. He was surprised and
touched when I told him how many people had expressed their concern.
I hope this makes sense. I'm still feeling overwhelmed.
Love to you all.
Diane
Osso, love, thank you for all you've done.
Oh, Diane. I'm so glad you and Bob were able to get safely to a hospital. Take care of yourself, so you can take care of your skinny lad.
