@Swimpy,
I had one of those in my back hallway, a frigid place some times of the year. The shower that worked in that old house was in the laundry room, past the back hallway, so the hallway heating somewhat warmed the shower-laundry room.
I never fixed the master bathroom shower since the fixture was a gorgeous antique that I never managed to bring to a certain vintage plumbing place eight hundred miles away..

Anyway, that long radiator was really useful for that purpose.

@Swimpy,
Oh wow, that's neat. I've never seen something like that (being in southern Cal) - beats forced air heating for sure.

@CalamityJane,
They provide very even heat. This room is easy to heat, but a bear to cool. The white thing on the wall next to the window is the inside part of a split air conditioner unit.

Because we have no ducts in the house, we can't have traditional central air. The air handler is on the inside. The condenser is outside on the ground.

This was my son's room. He wanted the entire room to be black. I made the decision to use grey and white as accent colours. The curtain rod is a hockey stick... The headboard is very dark, but it reaches the slanted wall. The artwork is his. Laughing
Sorry for the mess and the lousy photo quality, but I took them on an iPhone at night..

Yes, it's orange. This was my daughter's choice. It was actually quite stunning when it was decorated appropriately, with a white bed and bedding... but it's now the office and it's my husbands domain. The map should be up on the slanted wall, haven't done that yet. The rest of the art work is his, motivational posters... really?

Again, excuse the mess... but he likes the organized chaos look. Laughing

Looking out to the stairway...

The stairway, painted a dark taupe with grey carpet and white trim. It looks much nicer in person, again, iPhone at night, not great colour representation. We removed the wall and replaced it with the banister. The taupe is on most of the walls in the rest of the house.

@Ceili,
Oh wow! Great spaces! You were right. Our houses are very similar. You've managed to get 2 rooms up there, though. We made a big closet instead. Neither space on either side of the stairwell was really big enough to make a whole room. Looking at my bedroom and your son's, though, they look like the same room.

Yes, the two rooms are very much the same, how neat. Looks very nice, Ceili.
I have orange walls too, I like the cheerfulness of it.

@Swimpy,
Thanks, the boy has moved into the basement, he now wants me to paint the walls dark blue. I'm waiting till the summer... I can't stand the fumes, at least then I can open a window. The orange room is the biggest bedroom in the house. I wish my room was that big. sigh.

@CalamityJane,
Thanks, I like it now, when she proposed the idea and gave me the sample I was a wee bit scared, but it is cheerful and I've decided to keep it for a while, that is until the redecorating bug hits again.

@sozobe,
He wouldn't move.. insisted on being the star of the photo. He stands out better in the rest of the house. Wink

@Ceili,
Love the dog.

I was older and exploring when I painted my wee bedroom (aka the back office in the eagles lodge) chocolate brown, with cream white window and door trim. Well, heh, that's where I seduced my husband.. or maybe that was on the dance floor.

I got over seventies stuff eventually. It's sort of funny, as even then I didn't like other peoples' seventies stuff...

Installed the ceiling fan today. (5 minute installation, my ass.) I couldn't get a good pic. I'll try in the morning when there's more natural light.

@Swimpy,
Swimpy, did you see that beautiful mirrored bedside table from Pottery Barn?

@CalamityJane,
I love it, but real don't want to spend that much. I waited too long to order the one from West Elm now it's no longer on sale. Oh well, I can wait. Maybe Pottery Barn will put theirs on sale.

I'm also rethinking te comforter set.

@Swimpy,
I know, it's a hefty price, but Pottery Barn is really good with sales, it will come up. I got yesterday their Easter catalog and there they show a mirrored dresser (just like the night stand) and it looks so great (too expensive though).

Oh yeah, another comforter set - what are you "rethinking" of?

@CalamityJane,
I'm going to Target to see what's new there. They have duvet and comforter sets on sale. I'm thinking not blue or at least not so much blue.

@Swimpy,
A more saturated color could be nice, since the walls are lighter than you thought they would be. Maybe a deep teal/ turquoise? Or really graphic, like a black and white big print. All white could be nice too actually.
