What's really funny is the way those who run screaming from facts and logic paint others as unthinking dolts. Rolling Eyes

I freely admit to making a few intemperate comments recently, but I do not withdraw them. I share the frustration of those who seek peace in the middle east only to find those efforts continually thwarted either by the incompetence of Americans or the deliberate sabotage of the Zionist colonialists.

22 Arab countries are willing to make peace with Israel NOW if Israel withdraws to the 1967 borders, ends the illegal occupation of the West Bank and Gaza, and abides by UN resolutions, particularly 242.

Everyone knows what the solution is. Everyone knows what steps are needed to achieve it. Its so obvious that even Mr Bush said it...two states. But indicted war criminal Sharon would rather see a continuing war of attrition. He is willing to see Jewish children murdered rather than face up to the reality of what needs to be done.

In most human conflict, it is possible to discern between the oppressor and the oppressed. Just as the Jewish people were oppressed by European fascism, so Palestinian Arabs are now oppressed by Jewish Zionist colonialists. How sad that of all the worlds people who know what it is like to suffer oppression Zionist Jews conveniently forget, or even justify the barbarity they inflict on others by the suffering their forfathers endured.

Steve - Why should Israel give up that which it took defending itself against attack by countries who now number among those you cavalierly suggest they should give the land back? Perhaps those countries should not have attacked Israel in the first place?

It seems naive in the extreme to suggest that all Israel has to do is bend over backwards for those who seek to destroy Israel, and then everything will be fine.

As posted elsewhere...
Quote:

About 50 former US diplomats have followed the lead of British counterparts by putting their concerns about Middle East policy to US president George Bush, it was reported today.

The move echoes an unprecedented open letter written by 52 former British diplomats to Prime Minister Tony Blair last week, strongly criticising the Government's support for American policy in Iraq and the Middle East.

In their letter the retired US diplomats reportedly blast Washington's support for Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon and claim President Bush's approach is losing the US "credibility, prestige and friends".

The problem is that I'm not willing to make the sacrifices it would take to do it. ... Bush styles himself a "CEO president," but the world is full to bursting with CEOs who have goals they would dearly love to attain but who lack either the skill or the fortitude to make them happen.

Yes in deed,

BINGO!!!

BINGO

One more time with feeling:

BINGO

Now let us discuss what it is Bush has to do to succeed.

Or, if you think that not a worthwhile endeavor, then:

Let us discuss who will more likely be a "CEO" who will not only know what goals must happen, but also will possess "the skill and the fortitude to make them happen."

[Then, of course, we will then have to figure out how to get the Democrats to nominate such a "CEO".]

Israel will do all that except "guaranteed right of return" if Those 22 Arab countries PLUS THE PALESTINIANS THEMSELVES guarantee to enforce NO MORE MURDER OF ISRAELIES. They were offered this by Baruk thanks to Clinton. Arafat turned them both down flat.

Perhaps the solution is to first replace Arafat.

Then agree with what Baruk-Clinton offered followed by negotiation of "guaranteed right of return" after the terrorist murder of Israelies has ceased for a year or so.

Hmmm, ........
"To [replace] or be [displaced],--that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind, to suffer
The [picks] and [shovels] of outrageous fortune,
Or to take [flight from] a sea of troubles,
And by [departing] end them?"

[sorry about that Will, but I couldn't resist]

Sure you do. You are saying that Scart's comment can be construed as "attempted murder, incitement to commit murder or conspiracy to commit murder". Obviously you were referring to "incitement to commit murder" as that's the only thing a comment can really be in the context.

Therefore you are implying that Israel and the US condone such things whereas the majority of the rest of the world do not condone such things, but it is my contention that everytime some Muslim fundamentalist calls for the death of Bush, burns Bush or Blair in effigy or in some other fashion threatens a western leader that they are indeed inciting murder.

Thus, you must have been referring to every muslim country in your "rough countries" catagory.

I am referring to Israel, the USA (since obviously this can be done there) and 'others', which I wwrote as "rough states".
I never would say "every muslim state", since e.g. in Turkey you get at least 10 years prison for that.
