Polls in most of FL will close at 7 ET. The westernmost portion to the panhandle will be open until 8 ET.
I am sure that the Repubs in FL will be pleased to hear the last of the political ads, including a pro-Gingrich robo call today. I am not making this up:
"As governor of MA, Mitt Romney vetoed a bill paying for kosher food in nursing homes...forcing Holocaust survivors to eat non-kosher food in order to save the state $5."
After saying he couldn't comment and had no idea about the ad's existence, Gingrich added "You might check and see if the claim is correct."
Arrrrrrgh.

@Sturgis,
I thought Newt looked like a fat Bill Clinton in this cartoon - or possibly a sober Boris Yeltsin.

@cicerone imposter,
If they watch Fox News then they should like this video about Fox News.
Like H20man would put it, "this is an "excellent" and must see video that is very enlightening.

@hingehead,
That illustration is from the Wall Street Journal - supporting supply-side economics, incl. low tax rates. And yes it's Newt Gingrich on the right.

@reasoning logic,
I never questioned FOX News on other issues - especially on sports and general news. Their politics is what drives most people batty. My retort has always been on the politics threads about FOX News.

Big surprise! Money comes before truth on Fox news.

@RABEL222,
Some bleak numbers in Newt's 4th quarter FEC financial reportings. He spent more than he took in and does not have a lot of cash on hand.

@realjohnboy,

Just like Obama, but it's the entire countries future that's bleak - not Obama's, he is never held accountable.

@H2O MAN,
Looking forward, H2O, do you think that Newt can manage to hang on? He has only about $2M on hand, faces a loss tonight (perhaps) in FL, and goes up against Mitt in some pretty friendly Romney territory in Feb. Would you agree with that as you watch the nominating process. I am sure you follow that closely, right?

Are you going to hold Newt accountable? He spent more than he took in and does not have a lot of cash on hand. Does that tell you anything about his ability to manage a country? If he cant manage his own funds are you sure that you want him to manage your tax dollars?

Polls just closed in most of FL. A few districts in the far western portion of the panhandle are open for another hour due to the time zone thing. The media will hold off on projecting a winner until all polls are closed. If they, at just after 8 ET, declare Romney to be the winner, I can go to bed early. But if there is a significant delay...

they just changed the law on this in Canada - they realized that there was no point in trying to shut down the social media reports from the easternmost media - they will now be announcing vote results from the Maritimes three or four hours before the polls are closed on the wet coast.
