@failures art,
Earlier today I heard that Mitt was thinking of skipping the debate on Monday. A huge mistake on his part, imo, but he's coming off as afraid of something.

@cicerone imposter,
Iowa's a little different -- it was a squeaker either way. Winning by 8 votes or 34 votes is not a big win.

The networks are saying this IS a big, definite win for Gingrich, but it seems to be based on exit polls rather than actual results (with 2% of the precincts reporting, Romney is currently in the lead).

The New York Times' website seems confused about the outcome of the primary. They say all the networks called it for Gingrich, yet their numbers point to a clear Romney victory. Very, very weird.

@Rockhead,
Once again, you have posted an utterly irrelevant comment.

I'm sure you saw the cleverness in this idiotic reply but very few will agree with you.

If past is proglouge her is what will ensue

Rockhead: You are an idiot.

Finn: No, you are an idiot

Rockhead: Yes, but you really are the idiot.

Finn: No you idiot, you are the idiot.

Rockhead: Your are so mean and nasty that I refuse to reply.

LOL

This is why we don't put Set in positions of power. The coup would be too bloody.

@Thomas,
See above -- they're basing it on exit polls rather than the actual results, which are less than 5% last I looked (3% on CNN).

Maybe they do some reality-checking against the precincts that have reported? (Exit polls for that precinct vs. actual votes). I don't know.

But I agree with Nate that some caution is advised.

@Thomas,
Just checked in at the NYT again and with 4% reporting, Gingrich is now in the lead.

If he said he planned on being there, he couldn't flip on it.

@reasoning logic,
Your question is the equivalent of one asking you if you do not need to at least try and provide some sort of evidence that you are not a necrophiliac pedophile.

Good Lord you lay claim to logic in your moniker but have no clue.

Romney's committed to the Monday debate -- I predict some fieriness:

@Finn dAbuzz,
So then we both agree that you have no evidence nor will you even try to provide any so you are just talking out your ass because you know that you could not give a logical answer.

Andrew Sullivan:

Quote:
It's rare that bigotry hurts the GOP. But it sure hurt Romney tonight. 12 percent said they wouldn't support Romney if he were the nominee, and 48 percent said they would only do so with reservations. How do you rally your base as you must against Obama with numbers like this?

@JTT,
Blah, blah, blah...still incredibly boring JTT

I note that you have no love for Set (but then who do you love, and who loves Set?) and yet you and he are A2K twins: Every now and again a Leftist poster will agree with you but when a thread is produced to generate a communal reaction to you, you (and Set) come out on the short end.

Why is this so?

Because just about everyone is able to recognise when emotion overwhelms reason.

The NYT currently has Gingrich at 38% and Romney at 31% with 9% of precincts reporting.

(Lead's been growing.)

@reasoning logic,
Wow, what a surprise!

Maher is utterly irrelevant.

If you agree with his outrageous comments you were never going to vote for Romney.

Moderates don't see this partisan smart-ass as a hero.

Mitt is not winning the "Low Country" by as much as he needs to. That is the area around Charleston where he and McCain took 64% of the vote. Newt bit into that substantially.
