@Joe Nation,
Newt Gingrich is very smart but he is also a despicable bigot and certainly not a viable "Family Values" candidate that he professes to be.

@jcboy,
Some people still don't understand the use of the words "moral majority." I think they have a blockage someplace.

With all of his so called problems, Newt is still a better American than Obama.

@H2O MAN,
I could not agree more.

Well, except for the "will" part. Newt might win SC but he's still a longshot for the whole thing.

@sozobe,
Amusingly, I have an on-line scrabble buddy somewhere in SC. She predicts:
Turnout: 464,464.
Newt wins by 8%.
Newt gets 13 of the 25 delegates.
She believes that he will get crushed in FL on Jan 21.

@realjohnboy,
You don't half take this **** seriously John. Who gives a shite who is president of the 8 billion planetary residents? Half of Americans don't for a start. And this is only the Republican nomination to take on Big Dong. And after him 8 years of the Gutsy Broad who I admire tremendously.

I will have to contemplate that, Spendi. I was born in 1946 which would have made me 17 or so in 1963. My mom was an avid advocate for racial civil rights in our state of Virginia during that time frame, and it was a bit unnerving to see her on the streets protesting against segregation. Getting arrested.
A few years after that came Vietnam. There was still the draft into military service then but somehow most of those who got sent over there were black, Latino or poorer white kids from rural areas. More protesting.
As you know, Spendi, I like to play games. To some extent that is what I am doing here. I am not sure that it really matters anymore who wins.
Barring some unforeseen calamity, it probably doesn't matter who is elected.

Can republicans or democrats relate to this?

Is it time for people to wake up?

@hingehead,
Well, unlike you and soz, I don't believe it's nonsense, and I think a fair share of the independent vote doesn't either.

According to a Gallup poll, more Americans self-identify as conservatives (40%)rather than moderate (35%) or liberal (21%)

http://www.gallup.com/poll/152021/conservatives-remain-largest-ideological-group.aspx

That suggests that a rather fair number of registered Independents consider themselves conservative.

While I appreciate that not a single person among the 21% self-identifying as liberal believe the media has a liberal bias, I feel pretty safe in assuming that a bunch of those who consider themselves moderate do.

We all know that the approval rating for Congress is dismal; the approval rating for the MSM is just about as low.

In any case, obviously the tactic won't work as well as it has in SC but now that the Obama glamour is gone, I think quite a few Americans will notice this year if the MSM is attacking only the Republican presidential candidate.
