@izzythepush,
I wondered about it because I did not see but one spelling until I dug a little deeper.

You seem to be up to date with UK slang.

@reasoning logic,
Slang and dialect are not the same thing. Slang terms are new words, (or old words with a different meaning). Dialect are old words that have survived in a particular area. For example 'gay' always used to mean happy, the use of the term to mean homosexual was at first a slang term, but has now become the accepted meaning.

Mithering is a term used in Yorkshire/Lancashire meaning to complain or moan. It's not really used much outside these areas, but it's not a new word, so it's not slang, it's dialect.

@izzythepush,
I was only referencing what I had seen.

git (plural gits)

(UK, slang, pejorative) A contemptible person.
(UK, slang, pejorative) A silly, incompetent, stupid, annoying or childish person.  [quotations ▼]

@reasoning logic,
Here's a joke advert from Viz magazine. Viz is based in Newcastle, and a lot of the comic strips (or in this case adverts) are written in Geordie.

@izzythepush,
It does seem that we all have different taste for humor. I could get it but it was not that funny to me it seems that I was not the only one as someone thumbed it down.

I am sure that I probably have some jokes that you may find quite stupid.

@OmSigDAVID,
Last lend-lease has been paid off, shortly before the financial meltdown. Were the two connected?

I have been watching the candidates, and have come to a conclusion, and I include Obama in this...
The choice this election is a simple one, do we want to poop razor blades or set our scrotums on fire.

Yes, and most of the personal firearms were returned to their American owners.

Another woman has come forward about her relationship with Herman Cain. A Fox TV station in Atlanta reports that the woman claims a 13 year affair with Cain that ended in Sept, 2011. She has a bit of seemingly convincing evidence but also carries more than a bit of personal baggage.
Cain's early responses to the story are more than a bit muddy.

@plainoldme,
I have a lot of doubts concerning whether
he is a real conservative or not. I think that he is NOT.
I believe that he is a REAL ignoramus.

I am also confident that he is OVER; he is (politically) finished; he is gone from the scene.

I 'd be OK with supporting Secretary of State Rice.
She KNOWS. She has the SPIRIT of American conservatism:
personal liberty, at the expense of government jurisdiction.

Of course, I am aware that she is NOT in the running.

@plainoldme,
I don't care about any candidates' flies or panties as long as matters are consensual.

I am particularly unhappy that fly levels can affect who we choose to run a nation.

I'm bipartisan on that.

@ossobuco,
Only Americans with our politics makes sex a big deal; most Europeans laugh at the weight we put on sex concerning politicians.
