@JPB,
There's probably one ot two other things as well
Insider trading by members of Congress is a disgrace. Maybe the 60 Minutes expose will help put an end to it. It's troubling that it has taken this long for anyone to expose the problem. I'm glad that CBS and 60 Minutes took it on, but once again they have evidenced their political bias.
While the lead character in the segment was Nancy Pelosi, all of the other 4 referenced members of congress were Republican.
Peter Schweizer, of the Hoover Institute (which as 60 Minutes was quick to point out is a "
conservative" think tank) and his soon to be released book "Throw Them All Out," were prominently featured in the segment. I doubt they took any advice he may have offered as to who the worst offenders are.

Quote:Yet a source that has seen an advanced copy of Schweizer's book says that 60 to 70 percent of the offenders named are Democrats.
As the author of the linked article notes, this is not a scandal that involves only Democrats, both parties are guilty, but 60 Minutes deliberately chose to profile 4 Republicans and only 1 Democrat.
They did so, I have to assume, to either suggest this is predominantly a Republican scandal or to make amends with their Democrat buddies for going after Pelosi.
While this scandal is being dealt with someone should take a look at what other laws Congress has exempted themselves from.
It is outrageous and a clear example of how corrupt our government has been
