I thawt it addressed
all cats:
"Cats are incapable of feeling guilt."
My mind goes back to a kitten named Smokey who I adopted around 1953.
We had him for a few days when we noticed some minor health problems,
concerning which we made an appointment with a veterinarian
the following Saturday, about 5 days later.
On the Saturday morning in question,
FOR THE 1st time,
Smokey entered a closet dug down under some cloths that
were stacked on the floor. We had to search very thoroughly
before finding him, under deep cover.
His vet made a follow up appointment for the next Saturday,
whereupon Smokey repeated his clandestine evasion.
He
NEVER did that under any other circumstances,
nor at any other time.
However, when I cawt him, he did not appear to feel guilty.
