Do you ever wonder, roger, whether Reyn & Mrs Reyn might have superior cat training abilities to the likes of you & me?
Hmm, I don't think we necessarily have any better training abilities than anyone else, although we do try to be consistent.
I really feel that's it depends on the personality of each cat.
Kory (one of our beloved cats that died last year) had such a refined sense of guilt in a cat that I've honestly never seen before in a cat before. Kira (the other one that died) was quite the opposite and could be very defiant.
If Kory was chasing Kira and got overly rambuctious, all we would have to do it raise our voice a bit (call his name mainly) and he would almost instantly flop down where he was standing.
Our current cat, Sophie, is a bit different. While we got our last 2 cats as kittens, Sophie came into our home at 1 1/2 years old, and came with her own ideas. Generally, she is surprisingly good (she came from a shelter), but the kitchen table and counters are a constant challenge. She knows.... but does it anyways.
If she knows we're upset and I come after her to wag my finger and scold a little in a firm voice, often she'll roll over on her side. So, she's sorry, but will no doubt do it again!
