@cicerone imposter,
If the Republicans get to the convention with a candidate that has a plurality of votes and then deny him the nomination, it is not going to bode well for Republicans in particular and the country in general. I could see violence breaking out. As much as I don't like Trump, if he is the majority vote getter for the Republicans, I think he should get their nomination. Trump may not demonstrate the best of democracy, but neither does a party coup.

This could look like the '68 Democratic Convention where the eventual candidate didn't enter a single non-caucus primary and there was violence inside and outside the convention hall.

@engineer,
No violence but just people by the millions refusing to vote therefore giving the white house to Hillary by default.

@engineer,
I think I read somewhere that the current rules for the GOP require that the eventual nominee have won at least one state primary or caucus. I don't know if that is true or not but the article discussed the need for the changing of the rules to nominate someone like Ryan or Romney at the convention.

Changing the rules at the last minute will certainly anger a lot of people if they do that.

@BillRM,
His rallies are violent enough as it is. Those armed nutters don't need much encouragement to go on the rampage. They invaded a bird sanctuary with no encouragement at all.

Rules are changes all the time at the last minute in the GOP conventions.

@BillRM,
Of course they are. But changing rules to prevent a leader in delegates from getting the nomination tends to piss off a lot of delegates and the millions of voters that voted for that candidate. This isn't a change of how many speeches will be allowed on a topic or how much time will be allowed to take a vote. Most of the changes are of arcane rules that no one other than the delegates there would care about.

@bobsal u1553115,
That's the biggest danger with Donald Trump; he thinks he's a know it all. Making the statement that "I have a very good brain" proves the direct opposite. Any president ready to ignore advisors is a ignorant and dangerous one. No one person can know all there is to international relations, because they're constantly changing.

@cicerone imposter,
Having another Jackson type president in the white house could be both fun and interesting.

Telling the SC to go pound sand and or to enforce their own rulings. telling NC state leaders that if they did start trouble he would lead troops down himself and hang them from the trees.

Oh he found a means to drive the bank of america out of business against the wishes of congress and on and on and on we go.

@BillRM,
War with Mexico, fun and interesting?

You're already looking over your shoulders in case there's a Muslim hiding in the shadows, and now you want to add Hispanics to the list. I guess 9/11 wasn't enough for you, you want to facilitate a whole lot more.

Lord Palmerston bombed Athens because a Gibraltarian was locked up. Those solutions quite rightly belong in the past.

It was interesting and a good live fired exercise every time we send the army south of the border.

The last time we did so just before WW1 we send the whole then airforce along with the troops to try them out.

We even got the naval involved with the shelling of Veracruz.

The invasion of Mexico in 1916 completely failed to achieve its objectives. Veracruz was bombarded in 1914, as a part of a separate incident. Once again, Bill demonstrates his shallow and narrow "knowledge" of history.

As I've said before, Bill has great imagination. He can't separate what's factual and what's imagined. Poor Bill.

There was no further arm raids into the US and it was great training for the US army.

That's awfully nostalgic for someone who's never served and imagines people being put into harms way being killed and wounded as "fun and interesting".

You need help.
