@farmerman,
It's just a little nerve-wracking knowing he's lasted this long and he's not dependent on funds raised- he can, for instance, pay for hecklers, demonstrations, story slants to appeal to his wild-eyed demographic... I just want him to go away. I'm afraid he views this as the "deal of a lifetime."

@Frank Apisa,
He has provided a service for people who want to protect progressive programs though.

He is way too far over the line ever to be elected...and his nomination could only harm the Republican brand...NO MATTER THAT MUCH OF WHAT HE SAYS APPEALS TO REPUBLICAN MINDS.

The lesson those of us who want to protect progressive programs should learn is: Someone who says what we want to hear...may be our worst nightmare.

The Republicans, in my estimation, will be smart enough to cut this danger off at the pass.

Will the Democrats be as smart?

With all respect, Lash...that is how I feel about Sanders over on this side.

Think about it.

@Frank Apisa,
I think he's hit the entire load of nitwits. While a hardcore 20% backs him another hard core or 80% hate his guts.

He'll carry that 20% but he's reached the limits of where 20% of anything will get him anywhere.

Ummm...who is the "he" in your comments.

I was talking about both Trump and Sanders.

I honestly am not sure which one you mean.

@Frank Apisa,
One might reasonably assume its the nitwit in the GOP with a 20% following leading the pack.

@Frank Apisa,
1. Sanders *is* dependent on funds raised.
2. He neither could nor would pay for the kind of circus behavior Trump might.
3. Sanders has lived his life working for the poor and minorities, so the "deal of a lifetime" has no resonance with Bernie Sanders in the slightest.

Perhaps I was not clear.

You wrote that you wanted Trump to go away...to be away from this race.

That is how I feel about Bernie Sanders. That is how I felt about Ralph Nader.

I love Bernie Sanders and the fact that he stands up for the things he does.

But the guy not only cannot be elected in the present political climate of America...he is the kiss of death. It is my opinion that his presence on the ticket (top or bottom spots) will insure defeat for the Dems and victory for the Republicans.

Think otherwise if you want. But I am going to put my opinion out there as forcefully as you offer yours.

I still expect Jeb Bush to get the nomination, despite the fact he promises to shut down Medicare, if elected.

@edgarblythe,
and the Teabaggers will howl at the moon over having a "non conservative" RINO in the running.

I wish Jindal would run. He is such a phoney baloney douche bag that he has no idea what he is selling.

@farmerman,
Jindal declared in June he was running.

There are 37 declared GOP candidates when you include all the, I was going to say flakes but that would be close to 37, so let me say it's 37 when you include those with no name recognition or media coverage.

The Clintons donate $15 million/year to charity. How much does Trump donate?

Do the Obamas donate $$ to charity? If so, how much do they donate?

I mispoke. I know that Jindal declared his candidacy, I was just looking ahead to him being the official candidate. He is such a hoot.

@Miller,
Yes the Obamas donate $$ to charity. Their tax records are publicly released each year, and the public has the opportunity to read till their hearts content.

@edgarblythe,
Polls say a Clinton/Bush election would be a low turnout vote and a low turnout generally works for Republicans.

Hillery could win and Congress end up worse than ever.

How about Biden/Sanders vs Bush/Walker?

Big turnout - More Democratic Congress.
