@Diano,
"Career" ? Laughing

As for "telling them" this reminds me that Woody Allen's mother on hearing about his "relationship" jumped into the heating furnace !

You're asking what is the best way to break your parents' hearts? I don't think there is a good way. I know if you were my child I would be very disappointed and wonder what I did wrong in teaching you good judgement. I would also never have a good nights sleep again worrying how long until you get diagnosed with Aids or some similar disease because the porn industry frowns upon condom use. It also will make it difficult to get legitimate jobs again in the modeling industry because no one wants a spokesperson or representative with a porn background.

Before you worry about how to tell your parents you need to ask yourself how you will feel watching your girlfriend having sex with lots of other men? How will she feel knowing you're having sex with lots of other women? How will you feel if someone wants to cast you in a gay porn movie? Are you going to be okay with that? Remember, porn is a job like any other job and you don't get to call the shots.

I admit that I don't like porn and I think that if you follow this plan that you're making a horrible mistake but it's a legal product and it's your choice.

Don't tell your parents. Tell them you've got a job waiting tables somewhere.

Never mind everything else. You are both too young to get a job in that industry.

adult film stars

Some thoughts....

1) What exactly is an adult film "star"? Do they go to the Oscars? Are they glamorous?
2) Is this really the greatest aspiration in your life?
3) What percentage of people entering the porn industry become "stars"?

You must not like your parents much. One of your first thoughts about this career is "when do we tell our parents?" As if you can't wait to tell them, hurt them this way.

Don't tell your parents, surprise them with a copy of your first porn movie. They will probably be so proud of you and this way they will have something to show all their friends when asked what you are up to.

What exactly is the appeal to you of being in the porn industry? Really, I'd like to know. Have you actually sat down and contemplated the pros and cons of this choice?

Of course, the thought strikes me that you posted this just to see what kind of responses it would garner from well meaning members of a2k and you have no intention of being porn actors, but I guess we will never know.

Such negativity on this thread.

One thing to consider is that women make much more money in the porn business then men. Your girlfriend will probably have a better time of it then you.

@Diano,
You better wait another year before trying to perform in any porn film.
Quote:
Child pornography is defined by law as the visual depiction of a person under the age of 18 engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

Even if you lie about your age you shouldn't risk the long arm of the law.

As for making this an inevitable career? If I were you, I'd break off all ties with my parents and save them the pain and humiliation of the bad news. You maybe romantic minded punk-idealists but don't be so naive and think you're going to make a fortune with your found idea of celebrity.

If you and your girlfriend are fully prepared to live a very sordid and destitute way of life and take your chances with the Russian roulette game that is the infinite amount of STD's that engulf and flood the porn world then good luck to you on your endeavors.

I put things like this into the category of "I'm a 14 year old girl whose stepfather makes me have sex with his dog and now I want to kill myself" ( a real post on another forum). I always treat posts like this as real because we live in a strange world and you never know for sure. I also think someone with a similar problem might be too embarrassed to post the question and will find some genuine answers just by reading the thread of a faker. Suicide threats, child abuse, spousal abuse, animal torture, threats of murder or serious harm, stupid teen tricks etc., should never be dismissed as just another clown looking for attention.

@Diano,
Given the fact that the men in the porno industry are really treated like ****, and make a tiny fraction of the money the women make, it would be an especially stupid idea for you to go into that "career." I also think it would be a sure fire way to end your relationship with your current girlfriend. If you've been dating her for four years, then you began when when you were 13. Personally, i think of you as still being a child, but even if you argue with that, you can't deny that you were a child when you first started dating her. There's no maturity involved in this matter at all, and high probability of making yourself miserable for years to come--starting with the high probability of losing your girlfriend.
