@H2O MAN,
I have a fair tax plan too... It is the one found in the original constitution where those with the property pay the government for the support of their property rights... It would have the benefit of keeping property prices low because property that could not earn taxes would be put on the market... And it would have the addition benefit of helping to support higher wages, because if property had to pay taxes it would need labor to make it profitable... No more of holding vast properties off the market because taxes are so small they can allow for speculation... Taxes have a dual purpose... One is to help support the rights of the citizen, and the other is to make property serve the commonwealth, and get it into the hands of those who will make it serve the common wealth... Think of it...The government in taking this country from king and natives also stands behind every title... Why should it have put any property in private hands unless that property in private hands served the public purpose??? A lot of property owners think it is the job of the government through the laws and the courts and also the military to support their claims to the property, but it is the obligation of those without property to pay for those with property because they will not... If the rich will not pay their taxes, then let them swim... They are not here for a free ride... They enjoy extra rights and should pay extra for them... When the income tax was first made constitutional it affected no more than 13% of the population... Now it affect 50% and that is not enough for the rich who want the poorest to pay with blood since they have no cash... The fact is, that it is those who can afford to pay who should pay... It is those with the property and wealth who should pay for its defense, and when taxes are loaded onto the poor, it only hastens the day when the rich own all and the poor own nothing in this land...

The rich and the right have an owned free and clear idea of property rights... Nothing could be further from the truth...

@Fido,
He may be the puppet of wealthy liberals, but he is killing the rich & middle class.

The FairTax Plan would go further to level the paying field than any other tax plan.

I am certain you speak cant.... Poor people die all the time of on the job accidents and injuries, and suffer generally their want of good health care, and often to the point of death... What are rich people dying of??? Could it be boredom??? Are there not enough things to do, or places to go on this earth... Is twisting the purpose of politics and democracy awry not entertaining enough for them... Is not the role they play, crying long and loud about the unfairness of life not sport enough to hold their spirits to the mortal plane??? Let me for a moment endulge my sympathies... Boo Hooo!.. Okay... I'm done...

That was an interesting diversion, but we now return to the original point.

Why shouldn't we all attack any tax plan that includes giving the rich a pass, and making working people pay when the only result of that is more poor and more super rich... The income tax, and tax policy generally has been used as a weapon of class warfare, to reduce the working class to poverty, and give the capitalist class a pass from their obligations to support the society which defends their wealth...The age of Capital with its robber barons did not have the income tax... Property paid for its own defense, and now labor pays to defend what it can only have by the assumption of debt beyond belief, and God alone know why this is the case, that working people should pay for rights they will for the most part never enjoy... We have fought one civil war over property rights, but now property enjoys more freedom than ever... Since this inequality of rights will result in all power, all wealth, and all rights being enjoyed by a small and vicious class of people, while all slavery and frustration are endured by working people; i would say it is time to rub out property rights altogether and the class which defends them... They are the result of economic inequality that destroys in time all political equality... Money talks, to the priests of God, to judges and justices, and to the officials of government... We cannot be heard... It is long past time for a change...

You are misinformed because The FairTax Plan does not give anyone a pass.

Poor, middle class, rich and wealthy pay the same tax under The FairTax Plan.

So, why are the Democrats attacking this plan?

How in hell would that be fair... The poor, the middle and even the moderately wealthy do not have near the resources of the rich... Nor have they had near the power to evade taxation, or the power to influence government to let them slide on taxation..

Political equality is made a myth by economic inequality, and yet without equality of rights, no democracy is possible... But; we know everyone is different, and it is the greatest injustice to treat everyone the same, and all the more so since no ones resources are the same...

@Fido,
Fido, it's clear that you don't have a clue what The FairTax Plan is.

Please buy a book or two and study the plan before spouting off about things you know nothing about.

I have book money for good books; but I also know that this country gave extra protection to property rights which those who had property paid for with taxes, and that when finance became a major part of the wealth of this land that the income tax was created to take government support from that money as well...It does not work... It is the middle and poor who pay taxes that the rich evade... They loan to goverment money they say they cannot pay in taxes, and for ce government to borrow for their needs which are really the protection of the wealthy... It has to end... The export of out capital has to end... The protection abroad of property owned by the rich, our capital has got to end... The rich have got to be liquidated... The common wealth must once again be returned to the people, and only put in private hands if it will support the government that supports its title... Otherwise; this country is a fast fish belonging to those who can land it... Is that what we want??? Do we want a free for all of everyone seeking the wealth of others and calling it theirs, because our history has been the removal of wealth from people through profits and taxes and giving it to the rich, and I do not see that as fair or reasonable or good..

Ya gotta wonder why they don't know about this plan, eh H20man, considering the brilliant presentations you've made on it in this thread.
