Oh, what's wrong with the critters, littlek? (I worry about poor, beautiful Screech & his condition.) Hope things are under control.

From our last discussion, old age stuff starting to come about and tests being run...sigh.
Maybe she'll update us all.
I do have to say the little diabetic is a big fat happy cat upon last visit.

more Cleo/Zoey pix!

Sorry to not respond sooner about the critters. Screech is more or less stable. His insulin dosage goes up and down with the seasons, so I have to stay on my toes. He's due to have a recheck soon. Boots still gets her yearly tumors, which now seem easy to deal with. She also has some sort of rear leg issue that we haven't properly diagnosed yet. A few weeks ago, she got really down - droopy ears and lots of sleeping. She was also drinking way too much water and leaking urine while she slept. We have things under control with medication and she seems happier. But, we still don't know the cause(s).

Aaaaaaaw, Quinn - they're beautiful!
Sorry if I'm asking something that's already in the list but are they sisters?
Where do they come from? And what are they? I'm fairly fascinated by black cats but they're sooooo hard to photograph! All I ever seem to get of mine is the eyes!

Littlek - love the kids! Sorry to hear they're not well. I know this is a bit off the wall (don't shoot me guys) but have you ever looked at "alternative" methods? Homeopathy, even Kinesiology? A friend of mine had very good results with her horse (Kinesiology). Not knowing the cause is so frustrating...

kita-no problem..and welcome to A2K.
Yes, they are sisters--one from the first litter of the year, one from the last...so, not typical sisters but, sisters still.
They are very hard to photograph and get any detail because they are so very black..plus they both have really great shiny coats. Doesnt help with pics but, is lovely to have.
Black cats themselves are pretty interesting.
I read somewhere that domestic black cats without controlled breeding are the most populous of the colors. Kinda like a combo of all the colors, happening most often.
My gals are a bit odd...they are solid black with shadow tabby--but thats just a recessive gene thing
(if you're interested in all that stuff...heres a link and this page has another Genetic Code page if you're really interested Smile http://www.fanciers.com/other-faqs/colors.html#common_colors )
