How old were you the first time you smoked pot?

I think we should all get together for a smoke-in at the park by the M of S & I.

eoe's post reminded me of what I did like about smoking pot -- the ritual of passing it back and forth and the community of sharing it.

Because pot affects me like it does Squinney, don't be surprised if I get all melancholy about the stationary life of the caryatids. Somebody will need to be prepared to buy me a Chicago dog to snap me out of it.

Since it hurts my lungs, I've been told I need to use a bong. Does anyone have one to bring to the party? And, is there a time or is it like whatever dude, whenever you can get there.

@squinney,
I'll hit the head shop and pick one up for you.

(Does anyone remember head shops? I remember the first time I went into one. I was so nervous. Funny to think of that now.)

We have one down by State campus that is for sale. I was joking with the kids about buying it for them so they could have their own business. Only $40,000. Prime location. Been around a while so everyone knows about it. Rent is already covered by a couple of other businesses that sublet the back part of the building. Plenty of parking.

Now, if only I had $40,000.

Did you know some of the bongs / water pipes go for like $200-$500???

@squinney,
Dang. It comes with inventory at that price?

You should talk to the Small Business Administration.

17 or 18. Tried various kinds, original imports from Afghanistan by a friend, who worked there as an aid worker.
Thought, Lambrusco was not only cheaper but more effective and legal ... and that was perhaps the first step for becoming an alcoholic.

I felt the same way, Reyn. Never tried it or any other drugs. Never interested.
Wasn't my vice of choice.

Yup, meant to add that as well. Wink

I don't drink either.

I was one of those clean-cut kids.

@Reyn,
I was mostly contrarian I think. Laughing I do wonder how things might've been different if my dad didn't smoke pot and if all my friends didn't urge me to so often. The more I'm pushed, the more I push back. And eventually I got respect for that and people started urging me to stay strong (especially the ones who tried it and then couldn't stop even though they wanted to).

@edgarblythe,
I was 48. I was with younger friends and made the mistake of trying pot while I drank red wine. Big mistake! I got a terrible headache. Never smoked pot again, but continued to drink wine with dinner.

That was a big part of why I resisted, too. Perhaps we should start a Contrarians Club. (Ha! None of us would agree to that.)

@squinney,
I sat staring at a wall for like thirty minutes one time and had this
profound revelation about the life of a brick. How it's just stuck, ya
know. Like stuck there forever, man. And the cement that holds it in
place, gives it stability and foundation... also keeps it from moving,
from advancing and doing what it wants to do. And like, someone put it
there. The brick didn't have a choice of being there or some place
else, ya know what I mean?

Absolutely hilarious.
You got a gift, girl.
