@john2054,
The fertility of this field is amazing.

The West must rely on "the better educated among us" (like john2054)...

Astounding.

@Phoenix32890,

I really hope that the police put a stop to this.

Really?

You really want the police to put a stop to free speech?

The pastor is a publicity hound and idiot but his stunt is not at all the equivalent of shouting "Fire!" in a crowded room.

My God, we can burn the American flag, piss on Christ and **** on Mary, harangue the families of fallen soldiers, flood the internet with porn, and claim our president is a muslim sleeper, but we can't burn Korans![/b]

Why the hell not?

Because we're afraid that a bunch of murderous effin bullies will make us pay for it?

God help us, the Islamists are winning.

We are inviting the barbarians at our gates to come in.

@Lash,
Let's see...

"Our troops" are members of the most powerful fighting force in history. They are highly trained warriors. They are in a country where they are, daily, battling Islamists.

And we are to think that this Floridian clown's publicity stunt is going to make their lives more dangerous?

Give me a break.

If this stunt endangers anyone it will be civilians. They are a whole lot easier to kill than fighting forces with automatic weapons.

And so we are supposed to to avoid pissing them off because they might kill us.

Appeasement = Defeat

@farmerman,
Oh and that is just the Christian message.

Are you really trying to say that there is no difference between the degree of coercive proseltyzing of Christianity and Islam?

@JPB,
i get the impression when dealing with folks of a conservative bent, that the feel real life is something you don't joke about, i say, how can you not

@djjd62,
And I missed this entire page when I made my post. Finn's first post was at the bottom of page 7. It's the post I saw when I hit the "new" button. I didn't see that the same point had already been made by RH and he had responded. No need to re-fry the hash that's already been fried. Apologies to Finn for piling on.

dj -- I tend to be overly serious about things myself. No idea if it's related to being conservative, I think of myself more of a centrist, but I don't find much humor in human suffering. I do appreciate satire. Particularly when it demonstrates hypocrisy. I don't suffer hypocrites well.

well, I was absolutely wrong in an earlier post when I said the Pastor would not go to NYC, apparently he is, at this moment, in NYC however no one seems willing to meet with him. I suppose he will return to florida today/tomorrow empty-handed. So now I wonder, is his 15 minutes of fame over or will he attempt to rekindle some kind of media flame?

@dyslexia,
Well of course the imam in NYC isn't meeting with him. What in the world would he have to gain from such a meeting? He's trying to stay OUT of the news these days. <shakes head>

I expect Jones to do whatever it takes to stay in the spotlight. If the main media outlets refuse to cover him, I predict he'll self-destruct.
