Never touch the vile stuff. Mad

It sure has been hot here in BC. Glad to see a cooling trend coming here by Wed.

Is this for the egg inspecting job or something else?
Whatever. Good luck, tomorrow.

As an aside, I am suddenly getting a flurry of job applications at my business. Sadly, we have no openings.

@Reyn,
How 'bout them poor BC Lions? Terrible! And I had to sit through that Calgary-Edmonton game last night and watch the Stamps trounce the Eskimos 56-15 and listen to gloating all night long Sad((((

@realjohnboy,
We had a two person firm, set at that. We got a lot of inquiries because of my license. I fielded them (ai, chihuahua).

I talked with people, as others did with me back when I was job hunting some years earlier.

I'm sorry if personal talking on a phone call is a lost art now.

Reyn has none of the usual vices!

Makes you wonder what he's up to, doesn't it? Cool

Just checking in.

Yes, it's for that job. Been boning up on what may be possible job duties.

Good Luck Reyn!

Thanks, Chai. It's been somewhat low key after my previous mini-disaster at the last job attempt. Laughing

Yes, Margo is right. Reyn has none of the usual vices. Squeeky clean, he is.

Or, boring. Laughing

@Reyn,
You don't drink beer or coffee, so I am wondering if you are really a Canadian. Laughing

@Intrepid,
He doesn't watch sports, so he's not Canadian, either. He must be a transplant.

Okay, so the interview seemed to go alright. You can never really tell. I don't think I came across like a total dolt.

Apparently, about 150 people applied, and 10 (including myself) were being interviewed.

The shifts would be for Thursday and Friday, starting at 4:30 or 5 am, ending no later than 5 pm. The position would also cover for a full time person when they were sick or on holidays.

I should hear if I got it by this Friday, I understand. Job would start by the following Monday.

@chai2,
I don't have a phone number for them.

What reason would you call them for, anyways? Hmm, they're either going to pick me or not?

@Reyn,
True enough. Perhaps, though, you could email the interviewer thanking her/him for taking the time to meet with you.

Yes, email them thanking them.

Boy reyn, it never hurts to put a little "thank you" forth, and expressing your interest in the job.

You've alluded to this before, but believe me, it's not always about "either they hire me, or they don't"

If I had 2 equally qualified candidates, or 10, I'd be more likely to pick the person who emailed me to let me know he would like to work there, or called to keep up to date on the progress.

Wouldn't you hate it if you found out you were passed over because someone else bothered to say "thank you for talking to me, and I'm interested"?

Don't assume "well, they know that, or I wouldn't have applied"

You're competing with 9 other people. Make them remember YOU.
