As much as you'd like, things are not so much "black and white" as they are "shades of grey".

Soooooo, some rich can be taxed the same as everybody else, but some will pay more if they accrued their wealth illegally?

Outlawing guns is illegal, read your Constitution. This conversation is over, you clearly have no idea what equality means, let alone any clue as to what the Constitution demands.

What is the big deal...are you rich? If you ain't then why are you worried?
Tax the rich until they bleed, is my advice...don't like it? Tough!

Really? Then I'm for another amendment repealing the legality of gun ownership....guns are for killing...they serve no useful or beneficial purpose...ban them...ban them all, for once and for all...and lock up anybody caught with one...and throw the key away. No questions....am I radical? Subversive? Damn straight. Don't like it? Tough!

@Freeman15,
No, not "radical" or "subversive", just misinformed and ignorant of firearms. I would say also lead by the pecker by democrats and their unAmerican agenda. People that want to ban farearms, want to absolve others by making up excuse like "Guns kill people", because they don't want to acknowledge any personal responsibility.

You don't seem to be able to comprehend that you can say the things you do and be "radical" and "subversive" because Americans took up arms to defend your rights to do so. Take away the ability to defend yourself, and your rights, and ALL you rights WILL follow. You have to look no further that recent histroy, Mao, Hitler, Stalin, all BIG fans of a disarmed passive populace not capable of defending themselves.

@aaronssongs,
But if all guns were outlawed then only the criminals and the government would have them.

I don't know which would be worse Aaron.

I think I'll keep my gun and you should be glad I do. It may be all that will keep the crooks in and out of government from having their way with you one day.

Hmmm, then why is your name Islam Sucks? Why does Islam suck? Is it because they want to use firearms and whatever to defend their way of life, or defend themselves from us (meaning the US)...but we can have bigger and better firearms that them, but it's not alright for anybody else to have them...do you see how stupid your argument is?
You having a gun, is going to defend yourself from the US Military, or the police, or the FBI or the ATF, should they decide to invade your home and take you away? Yeah right...David Koresh, thought the same thing...and look what happened to him...the truth is Big Brother has been watching us for some time now, and if he wanted to move against us, he could...gun or no gun. And what do you Repubs do, but give Big Brother (meaning the clandestine government in charge) wiretappping initiatives, reductions and suppression of the little freedom we have left, behind fear mongering...removal of habeas corpus, and the failure to hold the executive branch accountable....Nice going Republicans and conservatives....we're a whole lot safer than we were...don't you just feel "safer", and more secure...I know I do.

@92b16vx,
Nobody seems to point out the most obvious flaw in taxing the wealthy. The wealthy, who own the means of production (using Marxist terms for those of the liberal persuasion) are NEVER going to pay their "fair share" of taxes. Tax them more, they'll just pass that cost on to the people that buy the sh*t they produce. It's like a renter who thinks they don't pay property tax.

Then of course there's the fact that we don't actually have free enterprise here and this is where the "liberals" don't get it. The ultra-wealthy OWN the government and use it as a hammer to stifle competition. Increasing the size of government simply gives those at the top of the pyramid a bigger hammer.

But as long as the global elites control the printing and issuing of our currency, these arguments are really pointless.

Ron Paul for President in 2008!

You live in HOUSTON and you don't have a gun?! Yeah, you're probably f***ed.

What is your objection to private ownership of firearms?

Actually seems reasonable. I just don't like wealthy folks...maybe because I'm far removed. Maybe because they're "snotty", and "greedy".

How many accidental shootings happen, due to personal firearms?
How many incidents of crime have been prevented due to someone owning a firearm? How many children are killed by firearms in the home or school?
What do we live in, the Wild Wild West? Are we civilized and cultured? Are guns the answer?

Accidents happen. Why is banning the first thing some people want to do? Why is it always about government telling us what to do? Do you really want the government to have the monopoly on firearms? History demonstrates that doesn't tend to work out to well. It's like Mao said, "Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun."

I've seen numbers ranging from 500,000 to 2 million crimes prevented annually by firearms. I know I feel better when my girlfriend is home by herself that if someone kicks in our door she'll be able defend herself.

The world is an inherently unsafe place. The veneer of civilization is very thin and I don't look for anyone else to take care of me. People in New Orleans found this out a little over 2 years ago.

The only thing I see as stupid is your assumption here. My avatar says islam sucks, because I think...islam sucks. And that's pretty much the meat of it, no secret hidden meanings, I have another one that says religion sucks, if you haven't noticed, I change them out every so otfen. But, since Iraqis are all alllowed to have one machine gun and ammo for it, I even personally gave some their guns, they do in fact have the right to defend themselves. Most of my objection to the war in Iraq is that Iraq was falsely invaded and locals that did EXACTLY what good Americans would do if invaded are painted as AQ supporters and enemy combatants. Do you see how stupid your assumption is?

You think all that big brother crap is bad now? Look at Britian, they took away their guns, and now their whole lives are under CCTV cameras. AND they have a skyrocketing violent crime rate. Look at the gangbangers in Canada that murdered that little boy, and post videos on YouTube showing off all their guns, which...are illegal in Canada. And, lets look at the Branch Davidian compound. Yes, they all died in the end, but how long did they hold the AFT off? The reason people didn't care to help them is because they were painted as freaks. Ask Ed and Elaine Brown if they are going to let the government come in and carry them off to jail?

What are you going to do when the **** hits the fan? People in NO know, and there were nieghborhood groups that keep rovering bands of criminals out because no police were anywhere. On the same token there were areas where the police, military, and Blackwater broke many citizen constitutional rights and forcibly took their firearms, that would be the 2nd, and 4th amendments.

One of my friends, the drummer for my old band, he lived in Montrose, and was gayer than a bundle of sticks, he carried a gun, why? Because he was assaulted quite a few times, being beat up because he was gay. Guess what, when he got his gun, he didn't gey fagbashed again.

FACT guns save many, many, many lives each year. FACT guns do NOT make people commit crimes, Criminals that are going to commit crimes..guess what...they DO NOT LISTEN TO GUN LAWS!!!!!!

The liberal democrat mind is a curious thing, see, maybe you can explain it, if we make guns illegal for LAW-ABIDING citizens, HOW is that going to stop criminals that do NOT obey the law? Do you think that just making guns illegal is going to just, make them dissappear?

Oh yea, more people are killed by cars than guns, where's your outrage, and movement to ban cars?
