@92b16vx,
I don't assume you're unwilling to go, I know you're not. If you were willing, you'd be over there presently. If you CAN'T go, then you have no right to support the war anyway because you CAN'T back up your assertions. You have the Constitutional right to speak your mind, I have the patriotic duty to ensure that everybody knows you're more misguided than the Iraqi orienteering team.

I had a free ride through UT through the Navy that was taken from me because of my physical health, yeah, REAL good thing I was allergic. I have a Bachelor's in Political Science with a minor in Public Policy and International Governance respectively that I had to PAY for because of that ****. Tell me, what formal political or military training do YOU have?

Is that as per Constitution? Or you own definition?

You go girl.

That's the problem with you suckers, you all think it's a free ride. Who paid for your ride, me.

@Freeman15,
My proof that you aren't willing to go to Iraq is the fact that YOU'RE NOT THERE.

Yeah, it was a free ride, because I didn't have to pay for it except for the 8 years I would've owed. I pay my taxes too, don't play holier than thou.

I am an American citizen with informed opinions and specialized education in the two fields being discussed. You are an American, and my equal under the law, but not in the realm of political or military discourse. This war in unconstitutional, violates international law, and WILL bankrupt America faster than entitlement spending had ever hoped. Do you simply not read?

I've been waiting for one of you to say it. Thought it would be 92 but oh well. So that being said, what give's you the right to call me chickenhawk?

Trust me, you are wasting your time arguing with DrAnal. I've gone over the whole chickenhawk thing with this guy and he's said the same BS then as he has here. I don't know why he doesn't admit that he's a chicken-hawk, since he obviously doesn't know what the word means.

@Freeman15,
Thing 1: You don't read more than me.

The war is unConstitutional because it lacks a declaration of war. Congress is not authorized to give the president the power to deploy forces. They can either declare war, or they can choose not to.
Article I of the Constitution if you're curious.

I have the right to call you a chicken-hawk because you are. If I called you "english-speaking", it would be because you ARE. Chicken-hawk may be an insult to you, and it certainly has a negative connotation in our society, but it is a noun, and you qualify as one to be described as such. Deal with it.

Now, you didn't know the war was unconstitutional, and under the law our opinions are equal as our actions, but of the two of us, one holds a degree in political science and has some (small) measure of military service. The other, unless evidence arises to the contrary, has neither. I have a right to tell a doctor what I think a patient is suffering from, but odds are, he'll know better no? Read Article I......actually, read the whole Constitution, and once you see where the Iraq war is unConstitutional, we'll talk some more.

Another assumption.
Quote:

So why does Congress fund it?

Congress is not authorized to give the president the power to deploy forces.
Yup it at the degression of POTUS.

They can either declare war,
Which they chose not too.
Quote:

LOL so much for legal under the law? Hipocrite.
Quote:
Chicken-hawk may be an insult to you,
I don't take it as an insult. In a republic as you have said your self. We are all equal under the law. Where you derive that you are somehow lifted up above becasue of prior service is beyond the definition of such a republic. That why i ask what give you the right. It ain't in the Constitution so it must come from higher above?
Quote:
and it certainly has a negative connotation in our society, but it is a noun, and you qualify as one to be described as such. Deal with it.
Not negative at all, it would be different if you could define it in something other then "i can because i say so", LOL.
Quote:
Now, you didn't know the war was unconstitutional,
How does that make it illegal? What is SCOTUS's opinion on this?
Quote:
I have a right to tell a doctor what I think a patient is suffering from,
I think i have that same right, damn i love this country.

@FedUpAmerican,
Anyone can come onto the internet and pretend to be ex-military and frankly I doubt those who pretend to be ex-military are. Sorry but twenty years of being married to a career Senior Officer I can spot the posers. Calling someone who supports the war but doesn't join a chickenhawk is the new thang with the left. You've lost your power using the words racist, bigot so you coin another term to insult. Here's a new idea for you anti-war propagandist try debating the ISSUES and not personally attacking people. If you continue in this thread to attack and make it personal I'll respond in kind.

Clearly there will be American soldiers that are to afraid to fight in Iraq and Afghanistan and they will do what ever they have to not to fullfill their contractual obligations. Frankly all they want is the free education and to do some week-end training they like to play soldier but lack the moral where-with-all or balls to fight a real fight. Personally who'd want to go into battle with a coward watching your back. Release them and send them a bill for training and education and food. Canada is tired of the Military Cowards fleeing to our country. When someone joins the military it's voluntary, if someone joins with no real intention of serving in theater and they are only there for the money and education they are using the system with no intent to fullfill their obligations unless they can stay safe and sound in the US doing some meaningless desk job. That's a coward of the worst kind, user and abuser of a fine career choice.

I am waiting for you to "expose" me, come on, you can spot em a mile away through your vast experiance. Did I, or did I not, scoop up my brothers in arms brains on the battlefield?

The chicken-hawk is perfectly valid label. I can't tell you how many times I've heard some fat slob or frat-boy cheerleading from the safety of their recliner or their jacked-up Tahoe. When I hear one of these people it immediately begs the question: If you think it's so f**king important, why don't you sign up and fight the good fight? It's a perfectly logical question.

Maybe the Pentagon should hire you to weed out the "cowards" who are just there for the benefits, since you're such an expert. Maybe we should just do away with the benefits so we can insure that only super-macho-manly patriots will join. You should call Gates right away!

And for the record Red, are you accusing someone on these boards of posing as ex-military? If so, why not go ahead and call them out?

Kudos for your posts....it's always the "armchair, bloodthirsty hawks", that love war and fighting and guns, except when it would involve them doing it, for real. George Bush , prime example...didn't he tell the Australian PM, today, that in the war in Iraq, "we were kicking a.."???? Right? You sending American men and women, into combat, where the likelihood of them coming back dead or maimed is high, and "we're kicking a...????? I can't stomach him, to tell you the truth. I can't stomach this unholy war, either. And I can't stomach "hawks". Great post. Welcome to the forum.
