I also ran an organization that supported the training of Latin American military forces, including counter-insurgency units. Hardly 'dirty' work. Hell, the Sandinistas in Nacaragua got voted out of office a decade after taking power in 1979.

Yes, the counter-drug war in Latin America is a sick joke, and I was glad to get out of it. But my counter-insurgency work in the Salvador project, was important and useful. The good guys won. I helped them.
