Hold on, most married men do not commit adultery. Nor, do most married women. I'll never believe you came by that statement honestly.

@socalgolfguy,
"Every President up to Clinton (with exceptions of Nixon, Ford and carter, I believe) had affairs and indiscretions that they didn't even bother to keep that private."

Yeah....right. If that's true, then every one of us has done the exact same thing convicts in prison have done, but just didn't get caught. Therefore, all convicts should be released immediately.

I haven't been married, I'm more of a live together kind of guy.

If I decide i want children I will marry, and I won't **** up a child's life
by screwing that up.

Recent studies reveal that 45-55% of married women and 50-60% of
married men engage in extramarital sex at some time or another during
their relationship.

So long as we're doing impossible races, what if he ran against Reagan? Who'd get re elected then?

1996 Clinton 47,402,357 electoral college votes 379

1980 Reagan 43,899,248 electoral college votes 297
1984 Reagan 54,455,075 electoral college votes 525

source - http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0781450.html

I don't know, how would you tabulate that, do you suppose?
Clinton was much more popular than either of the people
that Reagan ran against, so one can logically conclude that
Reagan's slam of a second term election wouldn't be the same
if Clinton ran against him, and Clinton defeated Bush who
can be argued to have carried all the hardcore Reagan supporters.

Clinton defeated a sitting Republican president (Bush... with direct ties to Reagan) in 1992
Reagan defeated a sitting (unpopular) Democratic president (Carter) in 1980

So, looking at Clinton's mid-term re-election results with Reagan as a challenger:
1996 Clinton 47,402,357 electoral college votes 379
1980 Reagan 43,899,248 electoral college votes 297
-----------------------------------------------------------
Clinton - and you have to factor in Clinton's popularity as opposed to Carter and conclude
he would have gotten even more votes

looking at Reagan's mid-term re-election results with Clinton as a challenger:
1984 Reagan 54,455,075 electoral college votes 525
1992 Clinton 44,909,889 electoral college votes 370
------------------------------------------------------------
Reagan, but you have to factor in Clinton's popularity as opposed to Mondale and conclude
he would have gotten more votes in that contest.

how about exit approval ratings

Clinton - 65%
Reagan - 64%

source - Historical Presidential Approval Ratings - End Of Term

I don't know. This will have to be up there in the "what if" category.

Clinton is a much better speaker, and intellectually would have run
circles around Reagan in a debate. Reagan wasn't that smart of a guy,
his talent lay more as a symbol and father figure who delegated decisions
to his staff. Clinton is a Rhodes scholar and his own best strategist.

By the way, that guy who is "you on the left 20 years ago" is one of the
married men who committed adultery. He's in new orleans now withis new girlfriend and a bunch of kids, some adopted, one theirs out of wedlock,
and he has no plans to marry her anytime soon.

You mean I can't control every aspect of my life the way politicians are
supposed to do?

Or is that only liberal politicians?

Any presidential historian can tell you about the personal lives of the
Presidents, with proof.

No.....when you said you wouldn't f____ up a kid's life by getting divorced. You can't make someone who wants to leave, stay, or someone who wants to stay, leave. Go ahead....choose your soulmate well, but always remember -- you don't own her.

Cheaters who prosper - Los Angeles Times

I'd say Dems because Reps take the "morality" angle whenever they can,
and Democrats aren't that adept at capitalizing on those scandals for their
own gain.

David Vitter... I live in his district and had to watch his nauseating
"I have the perfect family, here we are like the camera isn't on us"
commercials, which seem downright surreal now knowing he was
conducting long term "commercial affairs" (new one, that... what
happened to "whoremongering"?) and father children with prostitutes
at the very same time.

This is also one of the leading political voices for abstinence (doesn't practice
what he preaches, does he?) and opponents of contraception (well, apparently
he does practice what he preaches, sometimes) and a moral
"protect marriage" mouthpiece.

Locally there's no democrat calling for his immediate resignation the
way there would be if things are reversed.

Then again, in Louisiana democrat and republican are no different, at all,
and they switch the labels while voting the same if it suits them and
nobody notices or makes an uproar. they're both conservative and go
out of their way to seem super christian. When someone of either party
appears and has an actual agenda of reform everyone works to bury them.
Can't have anyone screwing up business as usual, and politics here is
big business.

Bush has done the exact thing you stated with the evangelicals and Christianists.

Every President up to Clinton (with exceptions of Nixon, Ford and carter, I believe)
had affairs and indiscretions that they didn't even bother to keep that private.
The difference is the press used to be a little more decent and truthful in
reporting (the Paula Jones case was a lie latching onto a fabricated story,
the guy who worked for the G.O.P. and started the whole thing now runs
a site that exposes G.O.P. manipulation and tricks).

Most married men in this country commit adultery, as do most married
women, of both parties and every faith. People are only human.

I think it's only a story when the person who falters is a sanctimonious
finger wagging windbag who backs public policy to punish people who
indulge in the very thing he does. That honor usually falls upon Republicans.

Look for info on the child David Vitter fathered with a prostitute and has
supposedly never supported. I'll bet there's a chance he wanted her to
abort it. Hypocritical asshole.
