They didn't want Hussein, for the most part.
Did they want us to liberate them? Some did, some didn't... the ones who didn't
weren't in favor of having him stay, they just feared we'd occupy them and
never leave, which seems to be what we had in mind. Were they better off
before? They weren't being blown to bits, hacked up by machetes and shot in the
back of the head on a daily basis, were they?
A comic writer had a great bit about Iraq. He posted Ann Coulter's statements about why
Americans need guns to protect themselves. He said "you
know, I'm with her on this. Relying on someone else to protect you, your
family and your property isn't smart. Free men have the right to arm and protect
themselves, and that's why we should give every free man in Iraq guns, because
Billy Bob in the suburbs here ain't got **** to deal with compared to Mustafa
in Baghdad. His wife and daughter get raped if they go outside, or if somebody
kicks in the door. His son can't go to soccer practice without getting kidnapped
or mistaken for something or shot at... he can't even take his family to church
without having to watch the door in fear someone comes in to kill everybody.
The NRA needs to step up for Iraq!"
