Well, leaving the house at 8-9 a.m every morning, returning 9-10 p.m. :p That and locking myself in the bathroom (since there were people sharing my room with me) for short periods of time, doing some breathing exercises...(I no joke!)
U d bomb, as I've said before. That's what I've been doing. Tonight, however, I took a stand, and told my wife if they're gone in one month, I will ask them to leave. The fact they are
all here,
in my face, 247, for an estimated two to three months, has more to do with the way they operate as a family, than it does the medical emergency that brought them here. I needed to be around them for a while to recall what I've always known about them -- they're very, very clannish, even obnoxiously so. They do everything imaginable together. I mean everything. And, they're filthy rich, surrounded by poorly paid 'empleadas' back in Costa Rica, and act as though they have the right to not only invade and sequester my home, but also like royalty, all the while trashing the place.
NO. I, MIDDLE-CLASS GRINGO CABRON, WHO HAS PAID ROUGHLY $108,000 FOR THIS HOUSE SO FAR, NOW TAKE A STAND. No more home-invasions, without my permission, period. Guest-status expires after
two weeks, at which time
'good roommate' status kicks in, which requires good old fashioned social decency in close quarters.
Amen, my bruthas and sistas. Amen. Thanks, Grasshopper. I feel even more determined to take charge now that you've shared your wisdom. I'm beginning to sense your independence and thoughtfulness. You sound a lot like my son (19), of whom I am very proud. Thanks again. :headbang:
